Yamaha Other description

Up for sale is my IT250. I've owned it for 5 years and I haven't ridden it much. All i have done to it was replace the carburetor with a brand new Sudco unit. The bike sat for a very long time, and mice destroyed the old carb. I still have it though. The rest is original. Right down to the tires... They have never been replaced.

The bike came from New York. The man who bought it brand new passed away in 2010, and I bought it off of his brother. We called the NY state DMV and they said there was never a title issued for it. So this DOES NOT come with a title...

A few months ago I took her out for a good 8 hour ride. It shifts like butter and goes through all 6 gears wonderfully... I actually had a friend ride this while I rode my mint condition 85 IT200, and the 250 would fly by it like its nothing. This bike is definitely a weapon if you choose to race it!

The only problem I have with it is the steering bearings need to be greased (they are tight), and the front wheel is wobbly... But all the spokes are free so I'll true that before the new owner picks her up.

Also, the throttle slide on the new carburetor isn't the same as the original. So I had to stick a modified throttle cable on it for it to work. You will need to buy an OEM throttle slide in order to use an OEM cable...

I think that's everything... If you have any questions feel free to ask.

On Oct-13-16 at 02:13:28 PDT, seller added the following information:

Please keep in mind that this bike has been ridden. There are a few cracks in the side covers A long straight crack in the left side cover and a crack around one of the mounting points on the right side cover. There's wear on the fork leg from improper speedo cable routing, and scratches here and there. The tank is faded as are most other ITs that have had fuel in them. Some of the yellow paint/decal is peeling from the number plates as well, and there a small tear in the seat.

This bike is an easy restoration or a rider. It runs and drives 100%. Everything works the way it should, and I wouldn't hesitate to ride this all day long... And I have... She isn't perfect, but it's a low hour bike that is tight, fresh, and ready to win races.

I also have the speedo knob. It isn't pictured. I took that off when I bought it, because they always have a habit of falling off when you're riding.

2011 Isle of Man TT Recap

Fri, 10 Jun 2011

The Isle of Man TT usually provides a lot of drama, and this year’s event was no different. John McGuinness, second on the all-time TT wins list, added two more wins to his resume to win the Joey Dunlop Trophy while MotoCzysz once again fell just short of taking the bounty for being the first electric motorcycle team to record a 100 mph lap on the Mountain Course. The 2011 Isle of Man TT also had its share of tragedy with three racing fatalities.
