Bike has appx 11,500 miles on odometer.  All mechanical components (brakes, chains, sprocket, battery, etc.) are in good condition.  Front tire in good condition, new rear tire needed soon.  Bike has cosmetic blemishes/scuff/scratches from straps used on rear seat to secure cargo, and from being dropped while parked.  No major damage, no cracks, no bends, no deformations, etc.  1000cc "down tuned" version of YZF-R1 motor.  Comes with weather resistant tank bag, upgraded smoked windscreen, frame sliders, and heated handgrips.  Recent oil and filter change, comes with two keys, and factory tool kit under rear seat.  Will post as many photos possible, please request additional or specific photos if desired.  Buyer responsible for shipping / item pick up.

Pirelli To Remain Tire Supplier For All World Superbike Classes Through 2018

Pirelli’s relationship with the World Superbike Championship started in 2004 and will carry on through 2018, as the Italian company will continue to supply tires for every class of the championship. What follows is the official Pirelli press release. Pirelli has been confirmed as the Official Tire Supplier for all classes of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship having won the tender organized by Dorna, promoter and organizer of the World Championship, in agreement with the FIM, the International Motorcycling Federation.

This picture of me chasing Foggy on the Daytona banking in 1991 brought back some bitter sweet memories recently. I did half a season as his team mate on the Silkolene RC30s before scurrying off to Japan to ride a factory Yamaha Superbike. I’ve never been a quitter but I felt the team that year was gear stretched running two riders so it was a case of last in first out.

Remember that video on YouTube about the rider going 185 mph on a highway in Canada? The video went viral and eventually led to the seizure of a Yamaha R1 and $1,449 (Canadian) in traffic tickets issued to its owner. In April, police in Saanich, British Columbia believed they had enough evidence to seize the R1 and issued tickets to the registered owner for speeding, operating without due care and attention, and operating without insurance.
