50th Anniversary Of The Great Escape To Be Celebrated With Electric Motorcycle

Wed, 26 Jun 2013

July 4th marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic Steve McQueen film, “The Great Escape,” and to commemorate the golden anniversary of McQueen’s escape attempt from German forces during WWII, McQueen Motorcycle will unveil a special electric motorcycle, the Xscape. In fact, looking closely at the photo above will reveal wire wheels, most likely a nod to the vintage Triumph.

Previous versions of the Triumph Rocket III and the Rocket III Touring variant had its power and torque neutered in the first three gears. The reins are off for 2013 however, with the Rocket III’s 2294cc engine delivering full power in all gears.
