Triumph Speed Triple description

Contact Chris at 312-878-8711, chris@motoworkschicago.com, or through ebay for any questions.

We have a lot of time, effort and money into listing this motorcycle on ebay.  Please be respectful of that and be certain that you intend to follow through with the sale.  Your bid is a contract to buy.

We have the listing set up to accept bids only from US and Canadian bidders in an effort to prevent scammers from ruining the auction.  If you are a legitimate bidder outside of the US or Canada and you have a way to have the bike picked up at our location without it being crated, please e-mail Chris at chris@motoworkschicago.com.  Provide him with your ebay ID and confirm that you can arrange international shipping and have the bike picked up uncrated at our location in Chicago, and he will gladly add you to the list that allows you to bid.

The Speed Triple R is one mean machine! The Öhlins suspension front and rear (NIX30 forks and TTX36 rear shock) keep the forged aluminum wheels (0.7kg and 1kg lighter than stock front and rear) and Pirelli Super Corsa SP tires stuck to the road.  And the Brembo monobloc four-piston radial calipers (with 5% more stopping power than stock) bring you back into compliance with the law in a hurry no matter how far out of compliance you were!  This one is set up with the full Arrow 3-into-1 exhaust system, which shaves a nice chunk of weight, adds a juicy boost in power, and makes the bike sound like heaven!  It also has the color-matched flyscreen to keep some of the wind blast off of you, and the passenger grab bar to give your significant other better odds of staying on the bike when the fun begins.  It's in beautiful shape with only 2,453 miles.  It has just been checked over and has a clean bill of health.  This beast is ready to rip!

More pictures coming Tuesday detailing the condition of the bike.  Please look at all of them carefully and ask any questions you have before bidding.  You can call Chris at 312-878-8711, e-mail him at chris@motoworkschicago.com, or contact us through ebay.

The bike is located at Motoworks in the city of Chicago.  If you are local and would like to see it in person, please call 312-878-8711 to set up an appointment.

Shipping a motorcycle can be expensive, so be sure to look into it before bidding. The zip code is 60608 to help in figuring shipping.  Our recommendation for a great shipper is Danny at D&K Services.  He can be reached at 973-534-7823.

Winning bidder picks up in Chicago or arranges for/pays for all shipping/crating. We can deliver within 100 miles of Chicago for a fee. $500 deposit via PayPal due within 24 hours of auction close. Remainder via one of the standard payment methods within seven days. No PayPal for remainder unless you contact us first. The bike is to be picked up within three weeks of auction close. $25 per week storage fee after that.  We are a dealer, so we must charge sales tax and process the title and plate if you are an Illinois buyer.  If you are a buyer from one of the states that reciprocates with Illinois on sales tax, we must collect sales tax based on the vehicle rate for your state.  As a dealer, we also have a $110 documentation fee, $161 title/registration fee for Illinois buyers, and $10 ride-away permit fee for out-of-state buyers.

Nicked by a horse

Mon, 07 Feb 2011

I've done some pretty strange things on motorcycles over the years. The less said the better, really. But getting nicked by a horse mounted copper was a first for me.

Gladstone Motorcycles to Produce Bespoke British Bobbers

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

Television presenter Henry Cole has ridden countless motorcycles as host of the British Travel Channel’s “World’s Greatest Motorcycle Rides” program for 11 series, but he’ll soon be introducing a line of motorcycles of his own with his new Gladstone Motorcycles company. Named for Cole’s great-great-uncle, four-time British Prime Minister William Ewart Gladstone, the new firm will produce limited runs of hand-built bespoke motorcycles. The company’s first model will be the Gladstone No.

Riding in groups

Mon, 19 Apr 2010

Saturday morning was a stonker wasn’t it? A group of us ranging from neighbours, brothers, mates and girlfriends got up and headed down to the coast for a spot of bacon and eggs. We had a real diverse selection or bikes actually with a GSX1400, XJR1300, Triumph Speedmaster, MT01, A Yamaha R1 and my Triumph Speed Triple.
