Trip Facts Trip Duration – 7 days Total miles covered - 1200 Total spent on fuel – £137 Average distance per pound - 8.75 Miles Total spent on ferry £45 return Dover to Calais Total miles to date 7500 Last month I took a week out and headed over to Liege in Belgium for the 2010 International Police rally. I jumped on a Ferry to Calais, turned left to Dunkirk, Brussels then on to Liege to meet up with the British team. Triumph sent a tank bag specifically made for the Speed Triple to help out on the trip.

Triumph Street Triple Used to Test Rocket Components – Video

California-based aerospace company XCOR is using a Triumph Street Triple to test rocket components for a suborbital spacecraft. Of course, what immediately comes to mind is a giant rocket strapped on to the Triumph, but the truth is much less dramatic, yet still fascinating. XCOR is using the Street Triple for endurance testing of bearings components for the rocket propellant piston pump of the Lynx suborbital spacecraft.

Over the past few model years Triumph strove to create some sense of how the Rocket can be used, eventually creating a touring-friendly model with windscreen and saddlebags as standard, called the Rocket III Touring. Then came the Rocket III Classic. More pulled back handlebars, floorboards rather than pegs, and two-tone paint helped define the powerful motorcycle as something appealing to the cruiser crowd.
