1977 Suzuki RM 80 First Year - Highly Collectible NO RESERVE You Bid - You Buy Up for sale is my 1977 Suzuki RM 80. I bought the bike with the intentions of restoring, but plans have changed. It has a new top end that was installed by the prior owner, it starts easily and has good power. It shifts and stops just like it should; however, it does seem to need carburetor tuning. The bike is missing the air box ( you can buy one on eBay for 40 dollars) and it is also missing the plastic side number plates. The tires will need replaced along with the seat cover. The bike is leaking gas from somewhere - it could be the petcock or shut off valve. (The picture of the piston is the one that came out of the bike when the top end was rebuilt. It is still very usable.) The day I bought it, the prior owner had it stored in his house. We moved it outside, he put gas in it, and went flying up the street. I brought it home that day, rode it around the yard, and pushed it into the corner behind my boat. I never really looked at it again so it is exactly like I bought it. The bike is not restored and needs some work, but a great bike to start with - it would make a perfect father /son project. The NADA book value is $3,500.00 - look for yourself. I am guessing it is highly valued because it is the first year for the RM 80 therefore making it rare and collectible. Celebrating 50 years of Suzuki racing, Mitsuo Ito took his former flame, the RM63, for a trip down memory lane and a lap around the Motegi circuit. The miniscule 50cc race bike was born from the legend of MZ employee Ernst Degner's defection from East Germany to Japan during the early days of the Cold War.
Suzuki Reports Q1 2012-2013 Results
Thu, 09 Aug 2012Suzuki reported a 11.7% decrease in motorcycle sales over its first quarter and an operating loss of 3.5 million yen (US$44.5 million) from its motorcycle division. In the quarter ended June 30, 2012, Suzuki sold 573,000 units, down from 649,000 units sold in the same quarter in 2011. Sales were down in most regions though unit sales in the U.S.

Fri, 07 Mar 2014Although aftermarket grips and LED strips are both listed on the ad for this poor Suzuki, there’s no mention of the single disc conversion at the front of the bike. It’s a good job the seller is in no rush to sell. Surely this is the worst looking SV650 ever?You can see the original ad here.
