Chris Ulrich Takes Passengers on Charity Record Ride
Mon, 03 Dec 2012During the eighth annual Roadracing World Action Fund (RWAF) at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, Team M4 Hammer GEICO Suzuki rider Chris Ulrich felled every existing record for a two-up track riding charity event During the course of the two-day event Ulrich, on his GEICO Suzuki GSX-R1000, carried 71 passengers around the Speedway 213 times for a total of 489.9 miles. This beats previous RWAF records for most two-up rides and also sets new fund-raiser records for most laps completed in one day with a passenger (114) and over two days (213), plus the most miles ridden in one day with a passenger (262.2 vs. 248.4) and over two days (489.9 vs. 432.2 miles).
Kevin Schwantz Visits Suzuki Headquarters Ahead of Suzuka 8-Hours
Mon, 07 Jul 2014Former 500cc World Champion Kevin Schwantz recently visited Japan to take part in the official test for the 2014 Coca-Cola Zero Suzuka 8-Hours. Schwantz, who last year finished third at Suzuka riding for Team Kagayama, is part of the Yoshimura Suzuki Shell Advance Legend Racing Team and will ride alongside his 1986 Suzuka 8-Hour partner Satoshi Tsujimoto and Suzuki Moto GP test rider Nobuatsu Aoki. Slightly overshadowed however was the official unveiling of two new Burgman scooters with 125cc and 200cc engines. European consumers have had the Burgman 200 and Burgman 125 (perennially one of the top selling scoots in Europe) for more than a decade now while here in North America, we’ve only have the larger Burgman 650 model.
