Suzuki GSX-R description

This is a mechanically stock 2006 Suzuki GSX-R600 in silver & white. I am the second owner, having bought it with 1200 miles on it from a dealership. It now has somewhere around 6750 miles on it, although that may change a little as I ride it now and then. The silver and white paint was the rare color scheme from this year, with something like 20% of the bikes from 2006 being made this way.

All mechanicals are stock and intact, including the butterfly valve in the exhaust system. Every so often this thing goes out of adjustment and throws an error on the dash. I quick adjustment at the dealer or on your own if you're mechanically minded takes care of it. Don't be scared off by this - it's common on this model and doesn't affect the cycle's performance that I can tell.

Cosmetically, there are a few additions - GSXR gel grips, a smoked windscreen, and some carbon fiber looking tank and gas filler protectors. There's very little that couldn't go back to factory original. The 600 stickers were removed from along side the passenger seat. I don't have these since they weren't on there when I bought it, but they aren't hard to find if you want to put them back on.

There are very few scuffs, but there is a little wear and tear just from being on the road for almost 7000 miles. It's definitely in much better shape than many bikes I've seen of this age and style.

It's never been raced or laid down, it's always been garage-kept or covered and never spent a winter outside. Oil was changed earlier this season and every season before that after I got it out of storage, and the coolant was flushed and replaced this summer as well. Brakes are in good shape. The battery is original, so that may need to be replaced in the next season or two, but right now it cranks strong and starts well. The rear tire has some life left in it and the front tire is in even better shape.

The title is clear and lien-free. It's here at my house with me and ready to sign over to the winning bidder. I'll have a bill of sale that the state of WI Department of Transportation recommends for you to sign. I will not sell without a bill of sale in order to avoid scams. I also will not send my license plates with the motorcycle.

This bike really hasn't seen any hard use beyond some spirited riding in the twisties. It's largely been an overpowered moped to get me around on nice days when I don't want to be stuck in a box.

I'm selling because I'm looking for something else that is a little more comfortable for my wife and I on longer rides and because I don't have space for two motorcycles right now.

The winner will get a heck of a bike. I'm kind of sad to see her go, but it's that time.

MotoGP to Re-Visit Rookie Rule

Tue, 19 Jun 2012

MotoGP organizers are re-opening discussion for the series’ rookie rule which prevents new riders from entering the series with factory teams. Introduced following the 2009 MotoGP season, the rule was designed to give satellite teams the chance to field young up-and-coming talents  they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to sign. The theory was the rule would protect the satellite teams and spread out the talent pool.

Suzuki Teases New Cruiser

Mon, 20 May 2013

Friday morning, May 24, Suzuki will be unveiling a few new models. Details beyond that are slim, but Suzuki has sent us a teaser rendering of one of the models, shown above. The image isn’t very large at all, but judging by the headlight shape, we’re guessing it’ll be part of the M line of cruisers.

KTM‘s Ken Roczen continues to impress, taking his second AMA Supercross win of his 450-class rookie season at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Roczen, who also won the season opening Anaheim 1 round, took advantage of a mistake by Kawasaki‘s Ryan Villopoto to take the win and move within nine points of the defending champion in the rider standings. The main event started with Smartop Motoconcepts Suzuki rider Mike Alessi taking the holeshot for his best start this season.
