Kawasaki Voyager XII description

I have for sale a 1997 Voyager XII Zg 1200. The bike is in running rideable condition. I inherited this bike last summer from my father who bought a new bike and gave me this one. He had this bike since 2008 and he took pretty good care of it.

There are a few things I should point out about the bike. It will need a speedometer drive installed. I have the new cable, but not the drive. There is a crack in the windshield, that my father drilled a small hole in the end of to keep it from spreading. The plastic on the tank/battery cover has a couple cracks in it. I just replaced the battery last month. The vinyl on the front part of the seat began to split when I was riding in the cold over the winter..It has been patched with leather a shoe epoxy. The radio works, but never tested the tape player. Same with the C.B. It lights up and turns on but I never tested it because I never had the mike set up. The left rear speaker rubber mounts tore and it is zipped tied on. This bike ran very well for me this past fall, winter and spring. It is a very comfortable bike for long rides and has plenty of power. I do also have the drivers back rest and the complete service manual.

We ran a couple of stories last week - both, coincidentally, about new Kawasakis. One was the first peek of the new ZX10R – hot stuff you’d imagine – the other, the new W800 retro parallel twin. I suppose it shouldn’t have shocked us, which story was most popular in terms of hits but it really does mark a seismic shifts in British biking attitudes that the W800 story doubled the hits of the ZX10 piece.

Tom Sykes and Loris Baz captured a pair of one-two finishes for Kawasaki at England’s Donington Park. The first race saw the reigning World Superbike champion fight his way up from 11th place for the win while Race 2 offered a three-way battle between the two Kawasaki riders and Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli. Chad Reed earned his first AMA Supercross win in nearly two years with a hard-fought battle in the second round of three rounds at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif. The win was the 42nd career victory for the TwoTwo Motorsports Kawasaki rider, but the first since Jan. 21, 2012, in Los Angeles.
