Kawasaki S1 250 description

1975 Kawasaki S1C Mach I 250cc, three-cylinder two-stroke restoration project for sale. 

Rare collectable with less than 9,500 miles. Recently sealed engine (***needs to be primed, timed/tuned, and broken in***) has: rebuilt crank with new bearings and seals; bored cylinders with new pistons, rings, pins, clips; new clutch plates; restored oil pump; new gaskets. Wiring harness was inspected and repaired. Restored ignition system with new coils, cables, caps, and plugs. Carbs were rebuilt with all jets and pistons replaced. Has new air filter and throttle cable. The braking system is original and in functioning order. Has a new driven sprocket, chain, and tubes/tires. The body paint and decals were done in 2012. 
The exhaust system is original and functional-- some pipes have dents, and one has chrome peeling (see pics). The head light works, but has a crack in the glass. Needs a battery.

The motorcycle is mostly original, with replacement parts from DiabloCycle.com and/or KawaTripleParts.com. The sale will also include new fork seals and the original chain cover, handle bar, rear grab bar, and front tire.

Chris Vermeulen to Replace Colin Edwards at Le Mans

NGM Forward Racing has named veteran MotoGP racer Chris Vermeulen the substitute rider for the injured Colin Edwards at the May 20 French Grand Prix at Le Mans. Vermeulen will ride the team’s BMW-powered Suter Claiming Rule machine. Vermeulen raced four full seasons in MotoGP from 2006-2009, all with the Rizla Suzuki team.

Red Bull Glen Helen National Media Day Thursday, May 22

With the Supercross season over, and Motocross season now beginning, Thursday, May 22, will be a media day leading up to the Red Bull Glen Helen National. This event is open to all journalists — no credential necessary.  The day kicks off at 1pm, with a press conference featuring former 450 Class Champions: Ryan Dungey, James Stewart and Chad Reed. The floor will be open for media Q&A.

2013 AMA Supercross Houston Race Report

Ryan Villopoto captured his fifth-consecutive AMA Supercross win and sixth in seven rounds with a victory in the main event at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider passed holeshot-taker Mike Alessi on the opening lap and led the rest of the way for the win. Alessi, riding the Motoconcepts Racing Suzuki RM-Z450, remained in the hunt for the first few laps but soon gave way to a group including Team Honda Muscle Milk’s Trey Canard, Red Bull KTM‘s Ryan Dungey and Yoshimura Suzuki’s James Stewart.
