2012 KAWASAKI Z1000, Super Futuristic, Super Fast, Super Fun A thrill to look at, a thrill to ride. The Z1000 carving a powerful line as it cuts through the atmosphere and even as it stands still is one of those rare motorcycles that balance a distinctive aesthetic with an engine that pumps out arm-straightening power. Completely redesigned two years ago, the Z1000's aggressive bodywork reveals the design team's attention to detail. The aesthetic showcase begins with a low-mount front cowl that slopes back radically, highlighting the Z's prow and, behind it, an adjustable instrument cluster featuring a multi-function LCD display covered by a trick-looking orange lens. The line-beam headlight's guts are integrated nicely into that angled cowl. Moving rearward, you come to a shapely fuel tank that's flared on the sides to let you grab it with your knees and that's trim at the back for a snug fit. The seat is low and narrow at the front to make ground contact easy, and flows beautifully rearward to end in a futuristically retro LED tail light behind a red lens. It's a thoroughly athletic shape, one sure to garner attention wherever it's ridden.

WSBK 2012: Assen Results
Mon, 23 Apr 2012The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick. Behind The Scenes: The Making Of the Ninja ZX-6R vs The Isle of Man Video
Fri, 15 Feb 2013You may remember last fall’s release of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R was accompanied by a mind-blowing short video commercial of a rider screaming around the 37.33-mile Isle of Man TT course aboard the new 636 Ninja. Now, Team Green has just released a “Making Of” video about the production of that video, featuring TT star James Hillier. This behind-the-scenes short film shows the crew capturing Hillier as he passes within millimeters of the camera. You’ll see the camera-equipped pursuit bike racing side-by-side with Hillier, as well as the aerial heli-cam.
2014 WSBK – Laguna Seca Results
Mon, 14 Jul 2014Marco Melandri rebounded from last week’s disappointing Portimao round to win Race One at Laguna Seca while Tom Sykes extended his championship lead with a win in a red-flagged Race Two. Melandri got taken out of the second Portimao race after his Aprilia teammate Sylvain Guintoli slid into his RSV4. Melandri looked eager to make up for that DNF, leading every lap of Race One on his way to his third win of the season.
