Kawasaki Other description

1998 Kawasaki VN1500-E1 Vulcan 1500 Classic, Every Premium Upgrade You Can Imagine! - It was in 1996 that Kawasaki introduced the Classic versions of their 1500cc cruiser. With the 1500 they built the new machine around the proven Vulcan 1500 motor, a motor that has served as the satisfying and successful heart of all the Vulcan 1500 and Vulcan 1600 models ever since. It originally came with the same 4 speed transmission, but in 1998 it was upgraded to a 5 speed. The power plant was a major torque monster! The Vulcan 1500 Classic has a visually balanced and elegant appearance, nailing the aesthetic appeal of classic American cruisers from the 1950's era. With the 1500 Classic, Kawasaki began a line of cruisers that continues to the present that have blended elegant styling with superior engineering and performance, all offered at affordable prices compared to the competition. The Vulcan 1500 Classics are very comfortable machines, no extreme human horseshoe ergonomics here, and make great touring mounts. The motor and stock exhaust give off a pleasant deep rumbling soundtrack, and vibration is limited to a distant throb. Acceleration leads with a stiff torque inspired punch, but fails to deliver a horse-powered follow up. Handling is fairly well controlled for the cruiser class. The braking is strong with good feel, and impressive emergency stopping distances from 60mph have been obtained in formal road testing. The Vulcan 1500 Classics are solid machines with an excellent history of reliability. The Classic 1500 and Classics are low maintenance machines with hydraulic valves and controls, and shaft final drive.
