Kawasaki KLR tech info
Kawasaki KLR description
This is a nearly mint condition 2008 KLR650 with all the add-ons one would ever need to create the ultimate "budget" adventure bike. I originally purchased this bike for local and solo dual sport trips. It didn't take me long to fall in love with the KLR for its ridability, comfort, versatility, and most of all reliability, so I decided to build the ultimate KLR650 Adventure bike out of it. I did all the research and talked to owners to determine exactly what upgrades were best, then I executed the plan over the winter. I blew the doors off the budget because every mod made the bike that much better, so the cycle continued.
You can see in the pics that this KLR looks and turned out great, but the way it rides now, considering its anemic stock performance, is amazing. It performs on the street and dirt with confidence. You can do an entire day on this bike and still be able to walk at night (mostly because of the highway pegs, seat, and risers). The list below contains all the modifications made to the bike. Every upgrade has less than 100 miles of use except for the doohickey kit which was done when the bike was purchased. As you can see, this bike is built to go the distance. This is a bulletproof, nearly maintenance free KLR with every upgrade you would ever make already installed and brand new. If you want a purpose built adventure bike at a less adventurous cost, this is the bike for you. The build far exceed my expectations, but has unintentionally resulted in a bike so capable it no longer fulfils its original intended purpose for me, which is why I am selling it. It should be owned by someone who is going to put on the miles it was designed for. Results From Day 2 Of World Superbike Testing At Phillip Island
Tue, 18 Feb 2014World Superbike testing at Phillip Island came to a close today, and when the dust settled, reigning champion Tom Sykes stamped his authority, setting the fastest time of the test at 1:30.239, just five thousandths shy of the outright lap record held by Carlos Checa. The time was set during the morning session of testing, though nobody was able to best Sykes for the remainder of the day. Eugene Laverty, who was fastest on day one, showed his pace was no fluke as he stayed near the top of the time sheets, ultimately finishing second behind Sykes, with a best time of 1:30.513.
