KTM 690 Enduro description

This bike is in excellent condition and hasn't seen offroad use thus far. The tires are fresh, the wheels are without flaws, it is cosmetically in excellent shape as well as mechanically in excellent shape. I have about 3750 miles on this bike, which I am sad to admit were not awesome adventure miles. The previous owner rode the bike on the California coast and this was roughly 2,000 tarmac miles, before I bought it and put another 1,700 on it. Instead of dirty fun, my riding was sad commuting miles because I have too much going on to join in the adventure fun right now. The bike has two sets of wheels, three sets of tires, Seat Concepts seat (and the original), KTM hardparts adventure windshield, the Kuomo lowering link, two extra sprockets, two extra discs (for front and rear brakes) (not including the set that stay on the adventure wheels/tires), upgraded FMF exhaust (which sounds awesome), two kick stands for the two sizes of wheels, supermoto wheels/brakes from Warp 9 and in perfect shape. The ECU has been remapped and it has had the ride-by-wire throttle replaced by GoAZ here in Scottsdale, AZ (under warranty). The bike is seriously great, but I just had heart surgery and won't be riding for a while so I'm taking the down-time to build a different bike. It's not being ridden now, so I doubt the miles will increase, but if they do I will do the maintenance. I also have an extra oil filter and $50 in quality oil awaiting the next oil change.

Questions, just ask. If you want to ride it I need to see a large stack of $100 bills enough to cover the damage and my trouble or the whole bike. If you want it shipped I need to see the same in my bank account cleared and verified by your bank (I've seen the certified check scam). If I am uncomfortable with the transaction I will simply wait.

Carbon Fibre race bikes, and a KTM makes it debut on the BSB Motostar rostrum

Tue, 26 Jun 2012

Many think Carbon Fibre chassis are relatively new to motorcycle racing but I can lay claim to having been there and done that almost thirty years ago. I first rode a Carbon/Kevlar 250cc Armstrong in 1983 before going on to grab four British titles and pretty much every national lap record over the next three years. I also had some top ten 250cc Grand Prix finishes although I was totally gutted when my team mate Donnie McLeod topped me by finishing 2nd in the Belgian GP at Spa.

So if you're struggling for Christmas gift ideas, we're going to dig out some of the weirdest bike-related gadgets on the market.
