Indian SCOUT description
Selling a 1941 741 / 640 scout with everything pictured in NOS or rebuilt condition. TROG RACER! The motorcycle began a restoration in the late 80s which included sourcing a NOS motor, relacing the wheels with buchan, new firestone tires, and fixing/repairing what is 95% original indian parts minus the random nut and bolt. I have a diary and stacks of receipts from the build from he previous owner. I simply plumbed everything up and fired the motor for the first time in its 75 year slumber. Transmission completely rebuilt, rebuilt generator and electronics, fresh wheels and brakes.... I added a new chain and put it back together and got it ready. The bike comes with almost every important part to take it to full blown military spec. The original motor, which has a stuck piston, will be included with the auction as well as broken original trans case. The Motor and Frame have perfect numbers on them and its for this reason that I am selling it will a bill of sale. You can choose to title the bike off of the frame or for the purist, use indian stamps to transfer the number to the NOS motor boss. The VIN is not in the database and is free and clear. The original owner simply lost the title. The bike needs a battery which will be your choice to go with an indian look alike or a cheapo. |

Indian Motorcycle to Reveal 2015 Lineup at Sturgis
Wed, 25 Jun 2014Indian Motorcycle made a splash at last year’s Sturgis Rally, making its rebirth under Polaris Industries and revealing its Thunderstroke 111 V-Twin powered 2014 lineup. It should come as no surprise then that Indian announced it will reveal its all-new 2015 model lineup at this year’s Sturgis Rally. Although Indian makes the “all-new” claim, we expect a similar lineup to what’s currently available (Chief, Chief Vintage and Chieftain), perhaps with a revision or a new spin on an existing model.
Ace Motorcycle Predecessor to Indian Four
Wed, 24 Dec 2008One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. This old adage has never been more accurate than when describing a rare collection of motorcycle drawings from 1919 that were recently found in a trash bin. Created in 1919 by William Henderson, a man considered by many to be America’s most impressive motorcycle designer, this rare collection of original drawings depict the design of a brand known as the Ace, which later became part of the Indian Motorcycle Co.
