Honda VTX tech info
Honda VTX description
This clean, one-owner motorcycle has 21,070 miles (at time of listing), and has always been garaged and covered. It has been modified with the handlebar from the VTX 1300R (Retro), for more sweepback and better comfort, as well as Kuryakyn ISO-GRIPS, and includes a National Cycle "2-Up" quick release windshield and an Alaska Leather Sheepskin Buttpad. It rolls on Metzler 880's - rear new at 8,856 , front new at 17,174. Rear brakes at 17,174. Oil/filter and spark plugs recently changed (always at recommended intervals), and a new battery.
For years a daily driver, it has gained less than 5,000 miles in the past 6 years. I have long wrestled with the fact that I simply don't have time to ride any more. Terms are cash, face-to-face only. Do not ask about PayPal...I've gotten enough of that from the Craigslist crowd. This bike is located in Austin, TX and will be shown strictly by appointment only. Please contact me with your interest to arrange a viewing. Your patience in receiving a response is greatly appreciated. . .I travel several days a week for work. |

Hero Moto Unveils Leap Hybrid Scooter Concept, Claims 235 MPG
Fri, 06 Jan 2012Indian manufacturer and former Honda partner Hero MotoCorp has unveiled a new hybrid scooter prototype at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi. The Hero Leap runs on a series hybrid powertrain with the battery-powered electric motor providing most of the power and the gasoline engine acting as a range extender, charging the battery and supplying power when the battery runs low. Hero claims fuel economy of up to 100 km/l, which translates to an eye-popping 235 mpg.
Gardner chilling out and taking it easy
Wed, 14 Jul 2010Away from the pressures of being a Grand Prix racer in the days when fierce on-track battles and unexpected highsides were common place, Wayne Gardner throws a Honda VFR750F around Oran Park in Australia. The bike that Wayne is likely to be riding is special VFR750F, that was given the codename '6X'. The VFR was an experiment with prototype components including titanium valves and magnesium flat-slide carburetors, the result was the bike that weighed less than a factory RC30.
