Honda Silverwing Interstate description

This is a 1982 Honda Silverwing. The motor is a 500 cc v-twin that is water cooled. It has a drive shaft to get power to the rear wheel. The fairing, saddle bags, and rear seat/ cargo space are part of the original Interstate package. I have kept it in the garage when not in use.

When Honda first introduced the VFR1200F late in 2009, Editor Duke was an instant believer in the machine’s capabilities. It blurred the line between sportbike and tourer, and the addition of a true dual-clutch transmission that actually works was truly a surprise. BMW earned its first-ever World Superbike race win at the U.K.’s Donington Park, but missed out on sweeping the round after teammates Leon Haslam and Marco Melandri crashed on the final corner while battling for the lead in the second race. Melandri earned BMW its landmark first win in Race One leading Haslam in a one-two finish. They could have repeated that finish in Race Two but Haslam low-sided after making contact with Honda‘s Jonathon Rea trying to pass on the inside.
