I have receipts for every item installed and have kept track of everything done to the bike since I bought it in 2010, down to the fill ups.  The odometer reads 13150 miles but reality is that it has 25000 miles on it as the speedometer cluster was replaced right before I bought it.  Previous owner was an old fella that was a snow bird and kept the bike in Florida, the current owner is a very meticulous airline pilot that is 50 and has rode since I was 5. It also comes with a factory shop manual, Honda first aid kit, original radio cover, a pink bike cover (breast cancer foundation promo item that always ables you to find your bike), and the original tool set.  The bike is absolutely mint with the exception of a small little piece of the green tape missing on the rear right side bag, and a small piece of the front intake louver is missing.  If you don't know about it, you won't see it but I rather disclose everything.  Some of the upgrades don't even have 50 miles on them and the tires are like brand new.  The bike is ready to go anywhere and I have clear title in hand.  Kelly Blue Book value for a stock bike with lots and lots of miles is $8400,-, I don't expect to get back the $15.000,- I have in to the bike (all documented), but I'm not giving it away either.  If you're looking for a brilliant example of the last model year of the ultimate touring bike, look no further, this is it.

Electric Motorcycle Conversion [video]

Fri, 30 Jul 2010

If you were ever curious how to convert your smelly, noisy and dirty gas powered motorcycle into a quiet and zero emissions electric motorcycle then you have to check this video out from GomiStyle.  They take an old Honda Rebel 250 and customize the frame to accommodate the electric motor and batteries, they claim the conversion should take about two to three days to complete, the batteries will take about 5-8 hours to charge and will give you a top speed of 45 mph. Here is a link to the step-by-step instructions, check out the video after the jump. The GomiCycle – An Electric Motorcycle Conversion from Media Sapien on Vimeo.

Former 500cc World Champion, Kevin Schwantz, will pair with former Japanese Champion, Satoshi Tsujimoto, in this year’s Suzuka 8-Hour race. The duo originally tackled Suzuka together in 1986, ultimately coming in third position. Now the two are back in celebration of Yoshimura’s 60th anniversary, as part of the company’s “Legend Team.” Yoshimura will also field a second entry with former Australian Champion Josh Waters and All Japan Superbike rider Takuya Tsuda.
