Honda CB description
This is a 1976 Honda CB550K from the Hamilton Honda Motorcycle collection in Apache Junction, Arizona. This CB550 is an original rider in very good condition and drives well. It has 18707 miles on the odometer, has a new battery and has been recently serviced. It has its original paint on the tank, although there are several scratches on the top as shown in the pictures. The left side cover has a crack but since it looks to be an original, we did not want to replace it or repaint it. The original yellow paint still shows on the factory inspection locations. Video: Honda Crossrunner v mountain pass
Fri, 01 Apr 2011This road (the one in the video) was a previously unseen, super-steep mountain pass which needed first gear for the hairpins and second between them with an occasional grab at third on the quicker sections. It was the sort of road that pumps up your forearms and makes you crane your neck to see what's coming next (mainly cyclists). The surface was rubbish.
Gardner chilling out and taking it easy
Wed, 14 Jul 2010Away from the pressures of being a Grand Prix racer in the days when fierce on-track battles and unexpected highsides were common place, Wayne Gardner throws a Honda VFR750F around Oran Park in Australia. The bike that Wayne is likely to be riding is special VFR750F, that was given the codename '6X'. The VFR was an experiment with prototype components including titanium valves and magnesium flat-slide carburetors, the result was the bike that weighed less than a factory RC30.
