Honda CB description

1972 Honda CB750.

Custom Bobber Rat Bike.

Please read the entire listing and view all photos before bidding.  This motorcycle is being sold as is, with no warranty.

1972 Honda CB frame, cut, stretched, welded into a rigid frame.  Powder coated black.  Sportster style gas tank, very clean inside, nice chrome gas cap, custom paint; black and maroon with gold stripping.  Custom cut rear fender painted to match.

New rubber front and back, original 1972 Honda Spoke Rims with a very nice looking rusty patina.  Powder coated front forks. 4 into 4 chrome exhaust, new chrome engine parts and accessories, new kick starter, relocated chrome brake light and license plate holder, custom oil tank and cap.  Hand stitched black leather seat with brown stitch on chrome springs,  White Italian hand grips, black ape hangers, new headlight; painted black and housing controls for lights, front turn signals, engine kill switch, and cut off for trick electric ignition (hidden start button located under the seat, perfect for those days when you just don't feel like kicking), new chrome front turn signals.

Clear GA title.

This motorcycle is not running at this time as is being sold as a project bike.  The 750cc engine locked up some time ago and I have not had the time for a rebuild/swap.  If you are familiar with these era Hondas you know that a replacement engine is easily found, inexpensive, and easy to install.  The only other issue I have with this bike is that the rear tire seems to be getting rubbed by one of the bolts holding the rear fender,  the bolt just needs to be shaved down, or replaced with a shorter one.  It has worn a groove in the tread, so I would recommend replacing the rear tire.  A new battery will be included, it is not in the photo as it was removed before this bike went into storage...For the right person one weekend is all it will take for this Honda to be back on the road.  This is an amazing vintage bike done with many custom parts creating a unique motorcycle, certainly a head start towards a great show quality bike.

Please Read: This motorcycle was built with care, though it is not without some cosmetic imperfections in the paint, chrome, etc.  To me those areas are part of the bikes charm.  Please keep in mind this bike is over 40 years old.   Much of this build is handmade and one of a kind...I honestly never thought I would sell this one, but as it is I have another project I am looking to begin and I have started to lose interest in this Honda. Now is your chance to own this awesome bobber for yourself! I am selling this motorcycle at auction with a set reserve price. I have invested a lot of time, money, and emotion into this bike so I will not sell for lower than the reserve price. I will not disclose the reserve amount or accept any offers for this motorcycle at this time.  Bid to win, as you might not see another Vintage Honda like this one.  I will gladly answer any questions you have about this listing, shipping, etc, feel free to email.  I have done my best to accurately describe this motorcycle in it's current condition.

Payment and Shipping:  A non-refundable deposit in the amount of $300 must be paid through paypal within 48 hours of the auction ending.  The remaining balance must be paid by cash (local pickup only) or certified cashiers check within 14 days of the auction ending.  If you are planning on shipping this motorcycle please note that all arrangements, fees, costs, expenses, etc are your responsibility.  I will assit the shipping as I can with draining fluids, unhooking battery, etc but all other arragments are your responsibility.  I can store this motorcycle for free for up to 30 days after the auction ending, however after 30 days, I will require a $10/day storage fee.  The entire balance for the motorcycle and any storage fees must be paid in full and payment must have cleared before the title or motorcycle will be released.  Feel free to ask any questions about local pickup, shipping, or anything else concerning this listing.

Intermot 2012: Honda CRF450 Rally Unveiled

Tue, 02 Oct 2012

Today at Intermot 2012, Honda unveiled the CRF450 Rally, the machine it plans to enter in the 2013 Dakar Rally, marking the manufacturer’s return to the race after more than two decades. Honda has competed nine times from 1981 in the forerunner of the present Dakar Rally, the Paris-Dakar Rally. Cyril Neveu of France took Honda to its first victory in 1982, the race’s fourth year, and from 1986 to 1989 Honda won four consecutive titles for an overall record of five victories in nine years. The CRF450 Rally is based on Honda’s commercial CRF450X enduro racing model, and features electronic fuel injection, auxiliary fuel tanks in the panniers and lower side fairings, and the requisite navigation equipment located behind the windscreen.
