THIS AUCTION IS FOR A 2008 HARLEY DAVIDSON STREET GLIDE FLHX . THIS MOTORCYCLE WAS IN AN ACCIDENT IN AUGUST. IT HAS A CLEAR TITLE. THE BIKE RAN MINT WITH ONLY APPROX 18K MILES ON IT. IT APPEARS THAT THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION DID NOT RECEIVE ANY DAMAGE. THERE IS SOME ROAD RASH ON THE BOTTOM OF THE PRIMARY COVER BUT THAT WAS THERE BEFORE ACCIDENT FROM CORNERING. THE FRAME SEEMS TO BE GOOD EXCEPT FOR THE REAR FENDER MOUNTING AREA THAT COULD BE STRAIGHTENED. THE FUEL TANK ONLY HAS A COUPLE OF REAL SMALL DIME SIZE DINGS. STOCK PARTS ARE VERY CHEAP AND EASY TO BUY FOR THIS MODEL BECAUSE ALOT OF PEOPLE CUSTOMIZE THEM. THIS WOULD BE A GREAT REBUILD PROJECT FOR SOMEONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A STREET GLIDE AT A FAIR PRICE OR THE BEGINNING OF A CUSTOME RIDE. PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. 2012 Harley-Davidson Seventy-Two and Softail Slim Revealed

US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011
Tue, 09 Oct 2012Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.
Easy Rider 40th Anniversary
Tue, 27 Oct 2009Peter Fonda, who played Wyatt in the 1969 cult classic, Easy Rider, was in Glendale, CA on Friday to help promote the Blu-Ray release of the film which marks the 40th anniversary. The movie was scheduled to be shown at the Love Ride event that was canceled this year, instead the film screened at a local Harley-Davidson dealer. One of the film’s main objective was to expose violence and racism in the U.S. in a negative light but instead it seems that it was taken the wrong way with most, glorifying the lifestyle that was portrayed in the film.
