Harley-Davidson Touring description

2006 Harley Davidson FLTRI Road Glide restored to almost new condition by Vicious Cycles Motorcycle Co. (VCM) of Quakertown, PA.  Please google them to see more pictures of this great bike. VCM specializes in customizing Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

The bike was purchased through an auction in Nevada.  The bike has spent most of its life in the west where there is hardly any rain, sleet or snow.  The auction listed the bike with the Actual Cash Value (ACV) price of $29,550 - a startling number.  The listing stated that the bike runs and drives.  The pictures showed one saddlebag missing and a slight damage on the front fairing (I can provide these pictures if requested).  Otherwise the bike looked to be in good shape.   I called the auction folks in Nevada to learn more about the condition of the bike.  They reiterated what was already listed.  Additionally, they stated that the bike runs strong and seem to have expensive options.  I concluded that likely the cost to repair and check expensive options was higher then the ACV of the bike; therefore, it was auctioned with the listing of the ACV.

After I received the bike, I retained VCM to restore the bike to its original condition.  They installed OEM parts where needed and serviced it to match up with the manufacturer specifications.  I test rode the bike.  The ride is smooooth; as if riding on air (literally).

Some of the notable things on the bike are:

  • Vance and Hines 2 into 1 Competition Series performance exhaust that sounds awesome
  • 14" ape hangar handlebars
  • Air ride suspension (factory)
  • Custom wheels
  • Stretched tank (factory)
  • Brand new OEM fairing and saddlebags (to replace the damaged one)
  • Pre-wired for MP3, ipod or iphone.  Just plug it in and go!
  • Pre-wired for additional saddlebag speakers.  Amp is installed.
  • Smoked out lighting.

After the test ride, I realized the bike is big and more than what I am used to.  I am selling it so I can purchase a smaller bike.  I did not customize it or changed the seat thinking that the buyer may want to do something different.  The seat does have small tears in it and buyer may wish to replace it with one of his choice or have it reupholstered.  Please look at all the pictures to see the actual condition of the bike.

The bike has undergone the necessary Enhanced PA inspection for condition, safety and roadworthiness required for a title.  It passed with flying colors.  After I decided that I would like a smaller bike, I did not title it in PA to save myself some money.  The bike is ready to be titled in any state as a Rebuilt bike.  I will be happy to provide you with all the required paper work.

If you wish to see the bike, it is at VCM in Quakertown, PA.  Please let me know and I will make arrangements to show you the bike.

The bike is being offered at cost.  Please feel free to ask any questions before bidding or making an offer.

Upon purchase or accepting an offer, I will require a non-refundable deposit via Pay-Pal in the amount of $500.  Please make arrangements to make the Full remaining payment through a bank certified check, money order, or cashier’s check.  If the buyer is using a shipping company, the full payment must be received by me prior to delivery, .  If the buyer is picking the bike up himself, I will require the full remaining payment in the form listed, at the time of pickup.

Buyer is 100% responsible for any shipping charges as well as finding a shipping company and making the arrangements for pick up.  I am willing to help in any way I can.  All applicable taxes and fees are the responsibility of the buyer.

If the bike will be registered in a state other than PA, I will send all the papers via Express Mail after the bike has been picked up by the shipping company.

The bike is for sale locally as well and I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally.

Harley-Davidson’s New Tattoo Inspired Clothing Line

Thu, 10 Sep 2009

Not everyone can pull off a tattoo, I know I can’t.  Or maybe I’m just too scared to ink up my entire arm for the rest of my life, sporting a faded and stretched color blotch when I’m 75 with my grand kids trying to guess what it once was. Well Harley-Davidson has a solution for me (and maybe you!) Fake it! Harley-Davidson’s new clothing line has been designed by “Tattoo Masters” to give you that authentic tattoo look, but on a shirt.

Pope Francis To Auction Harley-Davidson For Charity

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

During Harley-Davidson‘s 110th anniversary celebrations earlier this year, Pope Francis was given not one, but two Harley-Davidsons, a 2013 Heritage Softail Classic and Dyna Super Glide Custom. Not one for gaudy excess (or a motorcycle ride for that matter), Pope Francis has decided to put both up for auction. Specifically, the Pope has donated the bikes to the Caritas charity near Rome.
