Harley-Davidson Touring description

FOR SALE- 1979 Harley FLH  BARN FIND With 1508 Origional miles. Going to be one of the best original shovels you will ever see. Everything IS ORIGINAL from ALL ORIGIONAL Paint in fantastic shape, original tires, the original Harley quick detachable Tour-Pak in great shape, and original seat..  The rear fender has never been folded to change tire or rake the paint off the hinge. Bike has been sitting since 1982 but was stored properly. His barn held some moisture so the bike has some oxidation and surface rust on engine, rear shocks, lower legs, nacelle, shifter linkage, and small areas here and there. I tried my best to take close ups of bike to not hide anything. Some of the oxidation and rust could be easily removed or polished off but I wanted to leave it true to the way it was found and not restore it. Wouldn't take much to have one of the nicest lowest mile shovels around. Its running and riding but needs front brakes gone through and i'm running it off the right tank because the left needs to be removed and cleaned. Bike fires up every time but you have to wiggle starter button a little... the contacts are dirty. It's amazing how good the bike runs with a very quiet valve train. New battery, freshly built carb, new intake seals, new primary cover gasket, new derby cover gasket, new air filter, new top cover gasket, new inspection cover gasket, transmission serviced, and oil changed. Saddle bags and tour-pak are in great shape with no cracks or damage. Off-Road Motorcycle and Free-Ride Bicycle Compared

Thu, 11 Dec 2008

What if anything do bicycles and motorcycles have in common? Besides the whole two-wheel thing, it isn’t outright apparent that these two “handle-barred beasts” share more than ancient ancestry. Modern Off-road motorcycle and Free-ride bicycle designs side-by-side illustrate how much technology the two have in common.
