Harley-Davidson Sportster description

Show Chrome, Custom Paint Sportster

This Sportster is show room clean, always garaged.

This is a late 1984 XLX, 1000. Have you ever been to a motorcycle rally and walked past a hundred Harleys that all look alike, or heard some dude say his Harley is custom because he changed out the grips and pegs.  Buy this Sportster and everyone will know which bike is yours!

 Features:

  • “Fat” whitewall tires with less than 500 miles
  • Windshield with Chrome Brackets
  • Chrome wheels with Stainless spokes
  • Chrome rear sprocket
  • Chrome front forks
  • Chrome front caliper
  • Chrome right side trans cover
  • Chrome primary cover
  • Chrome forward controls
  • Matching Billet hand controls and foot pegs
  • H D serviced Screaming Eagle carburetor
  • Buck Horn Stainless handle bar for a nice clean look
  • Chrome clutch and brake levers
  • All switch wires are within the handle bars

  • Shorty Sissy-bar
  • Solid State ignition system
  • No rust on cylinder cans
  • Layback plate holder, Owner's Manual and Repair Manual Included

This bike can either be outfitted with a replacement transmission, still many available or it can be used to take apart and personalize your own Sportster. The motor runs strong, always starts. Second gear cracked and jammed into the gear box and cracked the housing.

I have all of the parts. I have removed the Chrome primary cover, primary chain, and clutch and gear box which will all be shipped with the bike. The crack can be seen in several of the pictures.

I have had the bike for over 20 years and it has never let me down, that is till one of the gears let go. I have found replacement gear boxes and replacement motors on EBay as well as just plugging in what you are looking for in a Search Engine.  Currently all oil (Crankcase and transmission)  has been drained and battery disconnected.

Happy Birthday Elvis!

Fri, 08 Jan 2010

Born on January 8th, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, Elvis Aaron Presley would have been 75 years ago today if he was still alive today. As a tribute to “The King” of Rock and Roll, the Harley-Davidson Museum has created a special exhibit, expanding on the semi-permanent collection from Elvis that has been on display since the museum was opened in 2008. The bill of sale, insurance, and registration papers for the 1956 Harley-Davidson KH pictured above will be on display along with the motorcycle that was owned by Elvis and the Graceland Museum has loaned some rare photos for the occasion. Along with Cadillac’s, Elvis had a passion for motorcycles but especially loved his Hogs and rode Harley’s in many of his films, including Roustabout (1964), Viva Las Vegas (1964), Clambake (1967) and Stay Away Joe (1968).
