2004 Harley-Davidson Softail Deuce (FXSTDI) Approx. 8300 miles, fuel injected, 1450 cc, 5 speed Has had “fix” for the well-known cam chain tensioner issue: Screamin' Eagle Hydraulic Cam Chain Tensioner Plate Upgrade Kit 25824-11 (includes hydraulic tensioner, high flow oil pump, billet cam support plate). Other upgrades include: - Screamin' Eagle Stage 2 EFI Kit 29490-99A (stage 2 cam/ air cleaner) - Cobra Fi2000 PowerPro fuel injection auto tuner - Vance & Hines two-into-one exhaust - HD oil cooler - LED turn signals- front signals relocated - LED brake light 69367-07 - Run-Brake-Turn light module - Custom front wheel - Luggage rack/ backrest I believe the bike is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic shape. (The two “blems” I’m aware of are slight bubbling under the chrome on the top part of the fork triple tree clamp, and scrapes on the right rider footpeg mount- see pictures). Harley-Davidson Recalls 250,000 Motorcycles for Rear Brake Light Switches
Mon, 24 Oct 2011Harley-Davidson is issuing a recall for 250,757 units from its Touring, CVO Touring and Trike line from model years 2009 – 2012. The rear brake light switch on the models in question may become degraded due to the heat from the exhaust systems. This may affect brake light function and may result in a brake fluid leak.
Harley-Davidson Offers “Steel Toe Tour” of York Factory
Thu, 23 Feb 2012Harley-Davidson is adding a new factory tour program offering visitors a personal look at the company’s York production facility. For years, the M has been offering free factory tours of its operations in York, Pa., Kansas City, Mo., Tomahawk, Wis., and Menomonee Falls, Wis., facilities. In 2009, Harley-Davidson introduced a premium tour that takes guests into “employee-only” areas called the “Steel Toe Tour” at its Menomonee Falls location.
Harley-Davidson Denies Plans for Small-Displacement Model for India
Fri, 18 May 2012India’s 13-million-unit-per-year motorcycle market is comprised of mostly small-displacement models, so it sounds odd at first when manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson and Triumph enter the market with their larger-displacment models. The question quickly arises as to whether they will stick with their existing big-bore models or introduce an all-new, small-capacity model for the Indian market. Manufacturers like the Big Four from Japan already produce smaller models for other markets so it’s a relatively easy task for them to introduce new models such as Honda‘s recently launched 109cc Dream Yuga.
