1984 Harley-Davidson Wide Glide , **** Only 2,225 made **** 1984 Harley Davidson Shovelhead FXWG - $6995 This 1984 Harley-Davidson Wide Glide (FXWG) is literally one of the last Shovelhead bikes to roll off the line before Harley switched to the Evo motor this same year. To top it off, this bike has: stroker motor bored .035 over, high performance S&S racing pistons, Rowe Rods, Mustang Seat, Mallory ignition, Belt Drive, Electronic and Kickstart, polished S&S Super E carburetor, newer battery, new stator, custom bars, forward controls, a fresh complete top and bottom motor rebuild done by Ramjet Speed Shop in Cave Creek, AZ with under 1000 miles on it. This bike has been extremely well taken care of. It was originally owned and cared for by a bike builder at 8 Mile Choppers before I bought it, and I'm only the third owner. You can still see yourself in the the 29-year-old factory Harley-Davidson paint. Runs loud and strong. This is the perfect bike for a real Harley enthusiast that wants something different than all the commonplace EVOs and broken-down Shovels that are out there. I have well over $10,500 into it, and have all receipts. The bike was appraised for $10,500 before the motor was rebuilt. I'm asking $6,995. Survey Says Harley-Davidson and BMW Motorcycles Less Reliable Than Japanese – But Owners Don’t Care
Tue, 26 Mar 2013A new survey conducted by the Consumer Reports National Research Center finds BMW and Harley-Davidson owners are much more likely to report major problems with their motorcycles than owners of Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha motorcycles. The survey, which will appear on the April 2013 issue of Consumer Reports, says one in three BMW owners reported experiencing a major problem with their bikes in the last four years. Harley-Davidson owners were slightly better, with one in four reporting serious issues.
