*****FREE SHIPPING*****

***Please note that I only can only ship within Canada.  If you wish to pickup or make another arrangements, please let me know ahead of time.  The listing is supposed to say that I DO NOT ship to the United States, but for some reason isn't showing that setting.  I can ONLY ship to Canada.  Thank-you.***

First of all, this was my Dad's bike that he bought brand new in 1983.  He kept excellent care of it until he died around 6 years ago.  It's pretty much been sitting in storage, but I did have it out a couple of times 2 or 3 years ago, (after some basic maintenance) and it ran perfectly.  It hasn't been running since then, but I know it won't take too much at all.  I know it needs a new battery because it doesn't fit in properly with the cover that goes over it.  It probably needs the carburetor cleaned out, new gas, possibly an oil change and spark plugs.  Not much at all for what this bike is.  I can take more detailed pictures of anything you ask for.  The "Mileage" in the space above is in Kilometers btw :-) .
There are regular scrapes and tiny scratches, but for the most part this bike is in excellent shape.  I tried my best to capture everything as it is in the pictures.

Now after saying all of that, there are quite a few extras that come with this bike.  There is another front and back fender, and a complete gas tank (all colored red).  There is another exhaust pipe and a few other miscellaneous (extra) parts.  There is a couple of oil filters, new spark plugs.
There is also a custom made leather pouch that goes behind the back rest (that I forgot to include in the pictures).  There is an extra seat and backrest included with this as well.Everything extra that I have will come with it.  If you would like more details or to see everything in pictures, please let me know.

The original manual and service manual are included.

As I said above, but I want to make very clear.  This bike hasn't run in a few years.  My bike mechanic just gave it a quick look over and said that it wouldn't need much.  I'm not a mechanic myself, but I don't want to scare you away by making you think there is allot wrong with it.  My Dad took care of this bike in a way that I can't even describe to you.  Many times he had it in his kitchen, tweaking things and getting it perfect for when it went to Daytona every year.  Up until he stopped driving it, it was in perfect running shape.  I did what little maintenance that I know and got it running a couple years later, but only drove it around the block a couple of times (and it ran perfectly).  I know it needs a different battery, and will need basic stuff to get it going, but this is a bike you won't see anywhere else.  Plus, if you get bored of the color, you have the red fenders and gas tanks to change over to for a completely different bike :-) .  With a little TLC, you'll have a real looker of a bike.

I'll need to make sure the payment clears my PayPal, as well as my bank from there, (usually another 3 days).  As I said, I'm including free shipping, but I haven't ever shipped something like this before.  I will promise to get it to you safe for sure, one way or the other.  I may even find it more cost worthy to just rent a cube van and drive it to you myself.  Just please understand that it might take me a week or so to get everything arranged.  I don't expect much longer than that.  If you have suggestions or preferences on how to deliver it, I'm sure we can come to an agreement.  It will be my expense, unless you want me to rent a helicopter or something similar, and they you can pick up the tab :-) .

Please only bid if you plan on buying this.  I don't mind sending any close up pictures or videos.  I can only tell you what I know about the bike.  I will be selling it as is because I won't know after the fact what happens to it... Saying that though, if there are any problems that need worked out, I think you'll find I am fair, (but I won't be taken advantage of either :-) ).  Please feel free to ask questions as many times as you like.  I realize this is a big purchase and I want to accommodate the best I can.

I will ship anywhere in Canada, as long as it isn't too far away from major cities.  If you aren't sure, please let me know :-) .  I cannot ship outside of Canada.  If you want to pick up with cash within 3 days of auction, that would be fine as well.  If you wish to pay by bank transfer, we can see what we need to do to make that work.  I will give you a discount if you pick this bike up yourself, or if you make arrangements on your own for shipping.  Something about liability will have to be signed to cover my end.  If not, I will make all arrangements after money is paid.

Thank-you!

J-D.

Would you pay £160,000 for this?

Thu, 05 Jan 2012

Pretty it may be, but you wouldn't catch me spending £160,000 on this 1915 Harley-Davidson 11-F Twin that's coming up for sale at a Bonhams auction. It's allegedly one of the most sought-after Harleys and has buyers from around the world itching to splash out on it. Not literally, you'd hope.

Harley-Davidson Denies Plans for Small-Displacement Model for India

Fri, 18 May 2012

India’s 13-million-unit-per-year motorcycle market is comprised of mostly small-displacement models, so it sounds odd at first when manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson and Triumph enter the market with their larger-displacment models. The question quickly arises as to whether they will stick with their existing big-bore models or introduce an all-new, small-capacity model for the Indian market. Manufacturers like the Big Four from Japan already produce smaller models for other markets so it’s a relatively easy task for them to introduce new models such as Honda‘s recently launched 109cc Dream Yuga.
