I keep it covered in my air conditioned garage, on a battery tender. https://youtu.be/uBSU_mkFSrU The previous owner of this bike purchased it in 2007 from an owner in Connecticut with around 5000mi. At that time it was a road going, yellow 999M. In 2010, and with roughly 7000mi, it was converted to a track bike. The previous owner sold the street parts to try to recoup some of the money spent to make it a track bike. The wiring harness has not been cut, but the wires that would go to the lights have been unplugged and removed. The previous owner seemed to take good care of it. When I went to his house to buy the bike, it was in his dining room on display. This is where he usually kept it when not riding. As far as track bikes go, this one is in really good shape, but you can see by the pictures that it has been used. It currently has Dunlop slicks on it. The rear tire is low on tread, but the front has plenty, although both tires should be replaced before it is taken on the track again. I bought this bike with the intention of racing it, but things have come up in my life, and I need to let it go, even though I'm going to lose money on it. The buyer would be responsible for arranging shipping if necessary. |

Is This a Ducati Multistrada 848 or a Hypermotard 848?
Fri, 18 May 2012Spy photos have emerged of what appears to be a new liquid-cooled Ducati model As you can tell from the utilitarian-looking exhaust, it’s still a prototype, but the production version could be ready for this fall’s EICMA show. It’s not clear at this point whether this new model will be a new Hypermotard or possibly a new mid-sized Multistrada. At first glance, the front “beak” fender and hand guards evokes the existing Ducati Hypermotards, but existing Hypermotard 796 and 1100EVO are both air-cooled and this model is liquid-cooled.

MotoGP Lifts Rookie Rule, Caps Factory Prototype Entries and Adjusts Other Regulations
Fri, 29 Jun 2012As expected, MotoGP organizers have officially lifted the rule barring rookies from racing for factory teams, but the Grand Prix Commission also tweaked some other regulations including a cap on factory prototype machines. We’ve discussed the lifting of the rookie rule already, with the main impetus being to allow a manufacturer such as Honda to sign up-and-coming Moto2 star Marc Marquez when he is expected to move up to the premiere class next season. As of Jan.
