Looks new. -Service just performed less than 1000 miles ago. The Ducati Streetfigther 848 combines the 848 Testastretta 11° engine and a new Trellis frame with Superbike 848EVO-derived geometry. This mix assures a great handling and a rush of power which is kept in check by the advanced Ducati Traction Control system. The engine is based on the Testastretta Evoluzione and delivers 132 hp at 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 9.5 kgm at 9,500 rpm. Compared to the Testastretta Evoluzione, the 848 Testastretta 11°’s overlap angle has been reduced from 37° to 11° to ensure a fluid power delivery, a wider power band and reduced consumption and emissions. The engine is combined with a 2-1-2 exhaust system made from weight-saving 1mm thick steel with 58mm to 63.5mm diameter pipes. The system uses two lambda probes and an electronic valve in the mid-section to deliver increase performance and a wide spread of power. |

Mon, 30 Sep 2013Ever since Audi acquired Ducati, we’ve been anticipating the first cross-brand technological developments between the Italian motorcycle maker and the German automaker. Sure, there have been some cross-promotional tie-ins, but we’ve been waiting with baited breath to see what Audi, and its parent company the Volkswagen Group, had planned with Ducati‘s small engine technology. Well we don’t have to wait for much longer, as VW Chief Executive Officer Ferdinand Piech revealed the first product of the “DucAudi” union in a speech at the University of Vienna: a new sports car concept called the Volkswagen XL Sport powered by the Superquadro engine from the Ducati 1199 Panigale.
2012 848 Challenge calendar announced

The eight-round championship will support the British Superbike championship for six of the eight rounds and will also head to Assen for the third year in a row and also to Misano as part of the World Ducati Week. The one-make series is open to riders of the Ducati 848 and 848 EVO models.

Mon, 08 Mar 2010THIS IS WHAT a 2010 Ducati Multistrada looks like when it's been slung up a gravel road at well over 60mph. The word on the street is that journo Costa Mouzouris of CMGonline is the culprit behind the battled-scarred machine; reports say he lobbed it while on the bike's world press launch in Lanzarote. In true Ducati post-topple fashion, the bike appears to have spewed the contents of its sump over the floor, as well as sustaining a fair bit of cosmetic damage.
