Erik Buell Racing-Developed 2014 Hero Karizma ZMR and Karizma R Revealed

Hero Motocorp has updated its Karizma ZMR and Karizma R for 2014, the first products from the Indian manufacturer developed with Erik Buell Racing. The two companies signed a development deal last February before the relationship deepened with Hero buying 49.2% of EBR a few months later. The fully-faired Karizma ZMR and the partially-faired R version were revealed at an event last week in Macau.

When he signed with the team, Eugene Laverty said he would give all he possibly could to bring Suzuki back to the top of the podium once again. Well, it sure didn’t take the Northern Irishman long to accomplish that goal, winning the very first race of the 2014 season at Australia’s Phillip Island course. The win was Laverty’s third in a row, including the final two races of the 2013 season when he raced for Aprilia.

The article otherwise does a good job of giving a brief but broad synopsis of Buell and the triumphs and tragedies encountered with BMC (Buell Motorcycle Company) — it’s a good primer on Buell if you’re not fully up to speed on Buell’s life in motorcycles.
