Buell Lightning description

I am selling my 2006 Buell XB12Ss Lightning Long. The bike is priced to sell with only 1960 miles. It has been barely ridden and taken very good care of. It can be a great bike for the "right" first time rider and an excellent bike for any sport bike rider. Plenty of power, lots of low end torque throughout the power band while easy to ride and maintain. Great for commuting, any day of the week easy riding, or just tuck and go fast.

Was lucky EBay winner of this bike three years ago. Bike had 1410 miles when I towed it home. Bike was originally owned by a young, non-experienced rider. Bike was laid down on its right side at a traffic signal (see pictures). Damage was minor (mirrors, right side foot pegs, windscreen and some scratches). Non payment and the bank took it back. Florida motor vehicles association (MVA) salvaged the title, damage parts were replaced and Florida MVA reinspected and provided a "Inspected" title. Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles inspected the bike before issuing an "Established" title in October 2010. There is nothing wrong but a few scratches so don't be "overly" concerned. I am so confident that this is a great bike that I will give the purchaser 3 days/100 miles to return the bike(unharmed) if they are not happy with the Buell for any reason.

Changed to Metzeler Sport tires both front and rear less than 200 miles ago. Comes with cover, user and service manual and trickle charger. Run only Amsoil 20x50 synthetic's.

A $250 deposit is required within 24 hours of auction end. This can be made directly through eBay via PayPal. If the deposit is not made within 24 hours the auction is null and void. Any remaining money's must be paid in full within 7 days of auction end. If additional time is needed prior arrangements must be made BEFORE auction end.

Can arrange to pick up the lucky winner from Dulles/Reagan airport, train or bus stop. Can't arrange for shipping, but will gladly work with yours.

So why am I selling this wonderful motorcycle?  At 67 I sadly find that my sport bike days are behind me but my Road King days are many!

AMA Sportbike: 2012 Daytona 200 Results

Tue, 20 Mar 2012

The 2012 Daytona 200 delivered another fairy-tale finish with underdog privateer Joey Pascarella and the Project 1 Atlanta team fending off a pack of three other racers to win by a slim 0.048 second margin. Competing in just his first Daytona 200, 19-year-old Pascarella from Victorville, Calif., held the lead for 41 out of 57 laps to finish first ahead of a last year’s winner Jason DiSalvo while Cameron Beaubier squeezed by 2010 Daytona Sportbike Champion Martin Cardenas in a photo-finish to take third. For the Project 1 Atlanta team, the win marked a dramatic turnaround from a let down in 2011.

Buell Motorcycle Factory Looks like a Fun Place to Work! [Video]

Wed, 08 Jul 2009

Motorcycle.com’s own Kevin Duke recently took a tour of Erik Buell’s “little” garage where Buell motorcycles are dreamed up and created and it looks like a mighty fine place to work! The Buell factory is a quite small operation but quite technically advanced, using high-tech testing facilities and computer programs to design, build, and test out their bikes.  There’s only 170 people on staff! Just 170 employees are responsible for the entire operation, and Mr.
