Buell presents the 2003 Lightning XB9S, a new motorcycle designed to resurrect the spirit of the groundbreaking Buell Lightning S1: Big torque, lean styling, and premium technology for uncompromised street performance. Imagine a dirt-tracker tuned to tame the street. The Buell Lightning XB9S offers outstanding agility, thanks to an ultra-short 52-inch wheelbase, 21-degree head angle and 52 percent front-wheel weight bias. The ergonomics are upright and comfortable, with wide, flat handlebars for better leverage in turns. The flyscreen is mounted close to the handlebars to resemble a numberplate. Simplicity and functionality is the name of the game.

British motorcycle design studio Xenophya Design and product designer Ellis Pitt have teamed up to produce a new company, Mac Motorcycles. Based out of Upton-Upon-Severn in Worcestershire, England, Mac Motorcycles will produce a line of bikes powered by Buell’s air-cooled single cylinder 492cc engines used in the Blast, with a tubular backbone frame. On the company’s website, Pitt describes its bikes as being simple to maintain, include references and details from choppers and bobbers and feature “Harley posture, flat-track manners, Ducati handling”.

Erik Buell Racing (EBR) today announced its founding dealerships across the United States. The recruitment process began shortly after the American International Motorcycle Expo in Orlando, Florida, where the company took the wraps off the 1190RX production superbike. More than 60 dealers will be the first to carry the 1190RX.
