Buell Lightning description

Offered for sale here is a 1997 Buell S1 Lightning with 12,960 original miles. I am the 2nd owner and have owned the bike for approximately 17 years. The bike is in predominantly original configuration with notable modifications including: Corbin leather seat, Bub 2 into 2 exhaust, and custom turn signals. I have tried to make sure any cosmetic blemishes on the bike can be seen in included photos. Since my decision to sell I have been riding the bike daily (last chance for some quality time together) and installing a new battery has corrected the only reliability issues I experienced. Earlier this week, Erik Buell Racing took the wraps off the all-new 2014 EBR 1190RX at the AIMExpo in Orlando, Florida. A more affordable offspring of the race-derived 1190RS, this RX version packs a lot of punch for a much more reasonable $18,995 price tag. Starting with the V-Twin engine, the powerful unit makes 185 hp and a whopping 102 ft.-lbs.

2013 LA Calendar Motorcycle Show Report

The 22nd edition of the annual LA Calendar Motorcycle Show marked its return to the Queen Mary Seawalk Village in Long Beach, California with hometown boy Sam Baldi taking the Bike Building Championship’s Best of Show trophy with a Jimmy Todorovith/Profile Cycles built Big Twin custom named “Lost Angel.” This year’s Calendar Show showcased not only top builders but selected vendors and exhibitors, and of course the Calendar Girl Music live performances. And as always, this year’s show celebrated the world premiere of the 2014 FastDates.com Motorcycle PinUp Calendars, featuring the world’s top SBK World Superbikes, sport and cafe bikes, and custom motorcycles with the beautiful Calendar Kittens. On hand throughout the day to meet with fans and pose for pictures were Calendar Kittens Apple Price, together with official SBK World Superbike grid girls Jessica Harbour and singer/songwriter Sarah Horvath.

Update Nov 13: Last Buell Motorcycle Rolls Off the Line An emotional Erik Buell has posted a video on the Buell Motorcycle site officially announcing that Harley-Davidson has shut down all Buell motorcycle production. Harley-Davidson will honor all warranties for Buell owners, Buell dealers will still be selling the limited supply of bikes that are currently on hand. Visit Motorcycle.com News for more details.
