BMW R-Series description

For those that don't know, standard features for this model are anti skid brakes, heated hand grips, electrically adjustable windshield height, two electric outlets, height adjustable seat, and both center and side stands.  The bike also has the BMW optional side cases and top case with passenger back rest.  Some of the owner added items are throttle meister for hands free cruising, aeroflow oversized windshield for calm air and weather protection on the highway, louder horns, and soft grip handlebar grips.  I just completed a 4,000 mile trip and the bike is reliable and has no issues.  The paint is all original and the bike has never been dropped.  A recent thorough maintenance included all lubricants, fluids, spark plugs, valve adjustment and alternator belt replacement.  The bike needs nothing.  If the buyer is interested in the Sargent seats pictured in the side view, they are available for an extra $300. (these retail for over $760).  Otherwise the bike comes with the stock seats.  I also have the owners manual, maintenance records, tool kit. and two original keys.  The bike uses no oil and has no leaks.  If the buyer is interested, I can deliver the bike to most any city with airline service back to Atlanta for 50 cents/mile (a good excuse for a final ride) or help with shipping at the buyers expense.  If you have any questions, call me anytime at 678-570-3986.

WSBK 2013: Laguna Seca Race Report

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

Tom Sykes and Eugene Laverty each came away with a victory as the World Superbike Championship made its return to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The first race featured two red flags, ironically caused by AMA Superbike regulars Danny Eslick and Roger Hayden, the two men with the most recent experience at the famed track. The second race was a much cleaner affair, with a dramatic finish, setting up the final two rounds of the championship.

Jeremy Burgess Out and Silvano Galbusera In as Valentino Rossi’s Crew Chief

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

Valentino Rossi has parted ways with longtime crew chief Jeremey Burgess, ending a partnership that extended across 14 years and three different manufacturers while capturing seven MotoGP and 500cc Grand Prix World Championships. Burgess will be replaced by Louis CK lookalike Silvano Galbusera, a veteran crew chief and mechanic whose most extensive experience comes from World Superbike and Supersport racing. As crew chief and/or technical director, Galbusera has worked with an impressive roster of riders including Troy Corser, Noriyuki Haga, Cal Crutchlow and Ben Spies.

2013 BMW F800GS and F700GS Side Stand Switch Recall Expands to US

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

Last month, we wrote about a recall in Canada for the BMW F700GS and F800GS because of a problem with the side stand ignition cut-off switch. As we expected, a similar recall has now been announced for the U.S. market.
