BMW Other description

2003 Bmw R 1150 RT (ABS), 1150RT - This bike is in very nice shape. It has ABS, throttle lock, highway pegs, Cee Bailey light tinted windshield, heated grips, and a Clarion marine sterio. With a fully adjustable windshield and a fairing that stabs through the air, the R 1150 RT is the popular evolution of the 1978 R 100 RT. The controls are placed conveniently and adjustable to fit your hands. And for those much-anticipated long journeys there's even 2 power accessory plugs.

Own (what could be) a piece of motorcycling history

Mon, 14 Jun 2010

Get bidding for what could be a revolutionary motorcycle, as the advert states all you need is, "a fair wedge of ingenuity" to marry together a BMW K75 and the 1.4 diesel engine from a Citroen AX. Thankfully the seller will be able to help with the project: "I have most of the design lodged firmly in my head, and will be more than happy to provide information." With a starting price of £100 and no bids the diesel project bike only has one day left on eBay

The Diavel rocks!

IIHS Asks NHTSA to Make ABS Brakes Mandatory for All Street-legal Motorcycles in US

Fri, 07 Jun 2013

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the Highway Loss Data Institute have submitted a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration petitioning in favor of making anti-lock brakes mandatory for all new on-highway motorcycles. The letter, addressed to David Strickland, NHTSA administrator, included a recent IIHS study on the effects of ABS on motorcycle fatal crash rates. The report found ABS technology reduces the rate of fatal crashes by 31%, while collision claim rates were 20% lower with ABS-equipped motorcycles.
