BMW Other description

1995 BMW K75 STANDARD, This one almost sold at the PROJECT BIKE auction on October 5 but did not quite meet the reserve. Since then two of the bidders have come back to talk with Bob about possibly correcting their mistakes but neither deal has completed and of course only one person can take it home. Bob selected to put it up on the website because he thinks it represents a great value with work that the average home mechanic/hobbyist can manage pretty easily. The cost of parts needed are pretty minor as it???s mostly labor that???s involved. This bike might actually pass Maryland Inspection the way it sits right now but the fuel tank issue might be a sticking point until addressed. None-the-less it could probably be ridden most anywhere after changing all the fluids and filters, dealing with the tank and maybe installing a fresher front tire. But we do feel that if one goes to the effort to address what we think is a rear main seal leak and clean and lube the splines while you???re at it you may prevent a future failure of the clutch due to oil exposure. Everything seems to work just fine right now mechanically. As usual with a PROJECT BIKE purchase these bikes are sold AS IS and without and warranty or guarantee so we always suggest you look them over closely, starting with the good images we have provided and then ask questions so you are making an informed decision. You can read our Special PROJECT BIKE Bill of Sale right here as well and as we???ve done for many, many years the purchaser is entitled to a discount on any parts needed to return this machine to safe and roadworthy condition and that even applies for accessories to be installed on this machine.

BMW Standardizes Switches

Thu, 23 Oct 2008

Whenever you throw your leg over a bike that isn’t your own, there is always a few minutes needed to become familiar with the proportions and controls of the foreign machine. Getting a sense of the clutch release point, brake feel, throttle response and riding position may all differ from what you have been accustomed, but they slowly become second nature after enough seat time is logged. One such control that strays from this rule of thumb is the turn signal operation of many BMWs.

V.I.P treatment for first Dainese D-Air customers

Fri, 08 Jul 2011

To celebrate the release of the D-Air race suit in the UK, Dainese are offering the first 20 customers to order a complete V.I.P treatment at the upcoming World Superbike round at Silverstone. The iconic safety brand will have each of the customer's suits personally tailored, with measurements undertaken by a Dainese D-Air engineer from the factory in Italy. Following this, the first 20 customers to register will receive a hospitality lunch, garage tours of the Aprilia, BMW and Kawasaki teams with the opportunity to meet the Dainese riders and rub well protected shoulders with the big names of the WSB paddock.
