BMW Other description

1981 BMW R80GS, This is a model we hardly ever have available because no one ever turns them loose. We got lucky and a long time DC resident was moving out of the country and could not take either of his BMW???s. While this machine is not beautiful by any standards it is a real 1981 R80GS and these are in very high demand and extremely short supply in any condition. First you should know that it starts, runs, shifts and stops just fine. It???s also bit cold-blooded but that???s to be expected when one spends considerable money upgrading it to the Siebenrock 1000 cc top end kit. Some additional tuning might improve this further if not just some regular exercise as it???s seen very few miles over the past few years before we got it and we???ve had it since July of 2012. Yeah, it got pushed into the warehouse with all the others despite having a bunch of money tied up in it. It also has a deep oil pan, some Hepco & Becker bag mounts and luggage rack and a European Stainless steel low pipe exhaust. There???s more goodies attached and plenty of other details you???ll want to know about before scheduling a time to come and inspect this bike so read further and please look closely at all the photos because we think there is a real and very desirable gem hiding under some dirt and grime but it may be the perfect R80GS to fine tune a little and dedicate you all of your serious off road adventures. Can you say ???Big Dog Ride here I come???? As with all PROJECT BIKES it is sold AS IS and without any warranty or guarantee so please read the specialPROJECT BIKE Bill of Sale.

2013 BMW F700GS and F800GS Announced

Tue, 03 Jul 2012

BMW has updated its F800GS and introduced the F700GS which replaces the F650GS for the German manufacturer’s 2013 lineup. The 2013 BMW F800GS slots in under the R1200GS as the company’s mid-displacement adventure tourer while the F700GS is an entry-level model to the segment. Despite the nomenclature, both models are equipped with liquid-cooled and fuel-injected four-valve 798cc twin-cylinder engines, just like the 650.
