BMW K-Series description

Up for sale is a 2005 BMW K1200LT with only 25,249 miles finished in a light blue paint scheme. Here's a way to enjoy BMW's technology and quality for under $7k. LT means Luxury Touring, it has 116HP and power is delivered smoothly across the acceleration arc. With a gentle twist of the wrist, the K1200LT jumps to 70 mph down the on ramp with no hesitation whatsoever. The 64 inches of wheelbase provides a smooth ride down the freeway over the 300-mile fuel range (BMW suggested) on the K1200LT's 6.4-gallon tank. Standard equipment includes the Full Integrated ABS braking system, heated hand grips, cruise control, electric reverse assist, and an on-board computer. It also comes with BMW's upgraded navigation system, CD player with a 6 Disc Changer, and auxiliary power plug. Epic biking holidays - of a lifetime?

Mon, 31 Jan 2011

I never had the rudimentary gap year traveling before university, seeing it as a bit of a cliché I set upon knuckling down with my studies and getting a degree. I never had that moment of discovery and finding out 'who I really am' and to some extent it's a regret. But I'm feeling inspired and the inspiration comes from two adventures offered by Compass Expeditions.

WSBK: 2012 Magny-Cours Results – Championship Decided by Half a Point

Tue, 09 Oct 2012

You would think carrying a 30.5 point lead into the final round of the 2012 World Superbike Championship would be a safe enough margin to win the title. Aprilia‘s Max Biaggi made it interesting, inexplicably crashing out of the first race at the finale in Magny-C0urs before scoring a fifth place finish in Race Two to give him a 0.5 point margin over Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes to win the title. The 358 to 357.5 point difference is the narrowest finish ever in WSBK.

Around the world on a Multistrada

Tue, 07 Jun 2011

Ever since Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rode their BMW’s around the world it seems anyone with a ‘GS’ has an open ticket to ride around the world and then write about it. And fair enough, if I could afford the bike and the trip then I’d be gone as well. Obviously, BMW reaped the rewards when Ewan and Charlie showcased what their GS could really do, changing BMW’s image from solid but stuffy, to solid and cool overnight.
