BMW F-Series description

The 2007 BMW F800S gives riders looking for an entry-level mid-sized sportbike the opportunity to obtain a piece of the BMW mystique. This feisty parallel twin engine cranks out 85 horsepower and is built for speed and nimble performance. With a low maintenance belt drive and a high performance cylinder head with cam follower valve gear based on the K 1200 S and K 1200 R, as well as relaxed ergonomics and instantaneous Brembo braking power, it'd be hard to find a mid-sized sport bike this solid or reliable. This bike also comes with two Givi side cases! I also mounted another large top case that is big enough to hold two full size helmets. It also has toasty grip warmers, raised bars with all the cables professionally rewired, extended mudflaps, and an extended windshield! This bike has lots of extras and is the perfect comfortable sport tourer. At only 37,XXX miles this bike is just getting broke in. Feel free to contact me for details or any questions you may have. Thanks for looking!

Need more from your S1000RR?

Wed, 11 Aug 2010

BMW has launched an HP Race Power Kit for the S1000 RR costing £2,850 including VAT.For trackday riders and racers, the kit - a new ECU and an Akrapovic exhaust system - increases peak power and torque, while optimising the bike’s engine, braking and power management systems, claim BMW, for short circuit riding and racing.Ayrton Badovini’s 2010 FIM Superstock 1000 championship-winning bike uses the HP Race Power Kit. It can also be found on the Jentin Racing-BMW Motorrad S 1000 RR being raced by Richard Cooper in the British National Superstock championship.• Maximum engine output increased by 4bhp and 6lb.ft to 197bhp (147kW) and 88.5 lb.ft (120 Nm) with power and torque significantly bolstered throughout the key 5000 to 9000 rpm midrange• Once installed, the power mapping for the four engine management riding modes (‘Rain’, ‘Sport’, ‘Race’ and ‘Slick’) is identical and the S 1000 RR delivers the full 197bhp across all four modes• The different modes instead alter the electronic rider aids with the Race ABS reducing input and the Dynamic Traction Control allowing full power at greater lean angles as the modes move from ‘Rain’ through to ‘Slick’• Engine braking on overrun is reduced giving more balanced corner entry• Pit-lane limiter activated when the start button is held down in first gear (actual speed maintained may vary with the bike’s gearing)• Akrapovic titanium and carbon-fibre full exhaust system saves 6.8kg over stock and includes a baffle which allows the exhaust to meet noise regulations in place at some circuits

BMW S1000RR at Nürburgring [video]

BMW’s new S1000RR is one of the mostly highly anticipated sportbikes to come along in years. Its four-cylinder motor has a larger bore than anything else in its 1000cc class, plus all the latest racetrack goodies like a slipper clutch, variable-height intake manifolds and traction control. We’re still a few months away from testing it for ourselves, but we can across this great video that will give you a little insight into how this Beemer howls at top speed.

2007-2008 BMW K1200R, K1200S Recalled for Foaming Brake Fluid

Tue, 16 Oct 2012

BMW is issuing a recall on the 2007-2008 K1200S, K1200R and K1200R Sport models due to a problem with the front brake hydraulics. In long rides at high rpms, engine vibrations may cause the full front brake fluid to foam. This would occur at a very narrow rev range and only when the brake fluid reservoir is filled to maximum.
