BMW F-Series description

Have a bike unlike any other!  This 2001 BMW F650GS has uniquely hand-drawn art work on all panels; she is a definite attention getter!  But she's pure BMW at her core. Garage kept, fully serviced, very low mileage for her age, less than 700 miles on new Michelin Anakee III tires (front and back), Z Technic windscreen, modulating Kisan head and brake lights, and SAE battery tender connection are among some of the farkles and improvements made.

I am not the original owner. I had the bike fully reconditioned and serviced by Max's BMW and she has performed beautifully without issue. It is apparent that she's been dropped in her past, so there are some scrapes evident -- however, I have never had to opportunity to take her off road (or on road much for that matter, due to heavy Northeast winters and a crazy job).  Since I am now down South, I began to work for the company that makes Sharpies.  One thing led to another and she is now fully tattooed.  All panels are clear coated to protect the art work but she is, after all, a GS and meant to be ridden. And if you're wondering why she's up for sale, we have 5 bikes and no more garage room.  Someone had to go and she drew the short straw.

The bike will come with a top case (can accommodate a full face helmet), the original 650gs tank bag, original owners manual and a full mechanical/service manual, two sets of keys for both bike and case, and an extra wallet key.

BMW Design Chief David Robb Steps Down; Edgar Heinrich Named Successor

Mon, 30 Jan 2012

David Robb, the man responsible for BMW‘s split-face motorcycle design, has left the German manufacturer. A native of Boston, Mass., Robb joined BMW as its design chief in 1993, and over the ensuing 18 years expanded the company’s product line to include the top selling R1200GS, the six-cylinder K1600GT and GTL, and the S1000RR superbike (that’s him on the far right in the picture above). The 56-year-old’s latest design to enter production are the C600 Sport and C650GT maxi-scooters.

BMW Warns of Potential Defect in 2014 R1200RT Suspension

Thu, 05 Jun 2014

BMW is issuing a warning to owners of the 2014 R1200RT with the Dynamic ESA option about a potential defect with the rear suspension. No formal recall has been announced at the moment; BMW is calling it a precautionary measure, though that may change in time or depending on the market. According to BMW, the piston rod of the rear spring strut could break.
