Yamaha XS description

Here is a 1980 xs 650 that sat in a garage since 1998. It was running fine when parked as the gentleman rode it and then upgraded to larger bike.  The shop was used to spray a car at one point and the bike has a dusting of overspray. I drained the tank and it's good to go an ran a compression check and the motor is good. I would clean carbs and give the the thing a good cleaning. I have far too many bikes and this will just sit so it's time to move it. Perfect all original unmolested to hack up into your own XS bobber, chopper or cafe.Sold as is

Batman’s Original Batcycle

Thu, 11 Dec 2008

Yamaha is set to put into production two new sporty bikes — the R400 and R650 —  according to “Young Machine” a Japanese motorcycle magazine. If true, this would fill a huge void in the manufacturer’s beginner sportbike bike lineup. It would make sense, considering the success of Suzuki’s SV650 (which later morphed into the Gladius and is now the SFV650), Kawasaki’s Ninja 650 (ER-6 in other markets), and even Honda’s CBR500R.

Yamaha Tops Second Day of Sepang Test as Honda Twiddles Thumbs

Wed, 29 Feb 2012

Ben Spies topped the time sheets ahead of teammate Jorge Lorenzo as Yamaha continued its MotoGP pre-season testing in Malaysia. While their rivals at Honda were idled by an engine problem, the two factory Yamaha riders found improvement on their Day One times and gathered data about riding in both wet and dry conditions. Spies set the best lap time at 2:01.285 while testing different chassis settings in the morning.
