Yamaha XS description

Attention vintage motorcycle collectors, here is a 1975 Yamaha XS500 DOHC one owner bike project with 2,188 actual miles!! bike has been sitting inside storage for several years, motor kicks over with good compression with the kicker on the right side of the bike, needs a battery and the carbs probably will need cleaning before the bike will run, throttle is free, tank has rust inside but looks like it can be cleaned up,brakes work, clutch lever pulls in,tranny shifts threw the gears, keys there,i don't have a title for the bike but can write up a bill of sale and pass along contact information of a title company that can aquire a new title for the winner of the auction, the vin tag is missing but the owner engaved the vin on the frame and that matches the engine number, selling as is although I don't see any major repairs that the bike will need, there is some rust here and there on the bike and might be missing a nut or bolt here and there also and or other, buyer will have to pay for shipping and locate there own shipper if one is needed I'm not sure there prices usually uship.com,i can store the bike for one week after the auction ends no longer, auction may end early because I might sell the bike before the auction ends, paypal accepted as payment if your not local,Thanks for looking and good luck bidding I'm located in Minnesota and my zip code is 55025,Im always looking to buy old and or unwanted Motorcycles and Snowmobiles Thanks Carl.

Team Hammer Releases Martin Cardenas

Fri, 04 Jan 2013

AMA Pro Racing’s Team Hammer has released Martin Cardenas from his contract to allow the reigning AMA Daytona Sportbike Champion “to better pursue his goal of returning to World Championship competition as soon as possible.” Though the eventual goal appears to be for Cardenas to move up to the World Superbike Championship, rumors have Cardenas landing with the Yoshimura Suzuki factory team to race in the AMA Superbike Championship in 2013 as an eventual stepping stone towards international racing. Cardenas won the 2010 and 2012 AMA Daytona Sportbike championships with Team Hammer riding a Suzuki GSX-R600. Team Hammer held a contract option for Cardenas for the 2013 season but decided to release the Colombian racer, allowing him to take a different route towards a WSBK career.

Yamaha Pro Am madness, the best one make championship ever?

Sat, 18 Dec 2010

I’m biased of course, but the best one make road race championship has to be the Yamaha RD 350LC Pro Am series. Back in the days when manufacturers had spare cash (1980 to be precise), Mitsui Yamaha organised this televised championship at major British race meetings to promote the recently launched, and now iconic, Yamaha RD350LC. Twenty four riders (twelve established and twelve rookies) were chosen by a panel of experts then given a completely free season of racing with a very generous prize fund thrown in.
