Honda CB description

Vintage 1973 Honda CB500 custom brat style cafe racer "Cherry Pie". This bike has had absolutely everything either replaced with new items or has been redone. It needs nothing other than a new home. It was a one owner bike and only had 7,000 miles on it before being professionally rebuilt, and has had roughly 1,500 more since its completion. The previous owner purchased it new from the dealer in 1973 and used it to have fun on weekends when he was younger. The engine ran great and compression tested high so it was inspected and given a full tune up along with being coated in special high temp ceramic engine enamel and having all the old hardware changed to new polished stainless bolts. Carburetors were ultrasonically cleaned and fully rebuilt and rejetted, along with receiving new high performance dirtbike style air filters. Ignition system was serviced and adjusted to factory spec. The engine was just finished off with a brand new stainless steel full exhaust which looks great and sounds mean along with providing a nice increase in power. Mechanically the bike is perfect and it has no leaks or problems. The wheels have been powdercoated satin black and have all new bearings in them. They are rare Lester mag wheels and give the bike an awesome look as well as never need to be trued like a traditional stock wire spoke wheel. They are wrapped in new vintage style Firestone tires. The brakes were rebuilt front and rear with new pads and upgraded to a new stainless line for increased stopping power, along with having the old glazed front rotor and rear drum resurfaced. The tank was cleaned inside and repainted a deep cherry candy with a metal flake silver underneath. In certain light it looks like a deep red and in the sun it comes alive with glittering metal flake. "Cherry Pie" was also hand painted on the top of the tank along with a small cherry. The seat is a custom made steel seat pan that was covered in real high quality saddle leather. The wiring harness has been entirely reworked to a clean simple minimal harness with a lightweight maintenance free lithium battery. This bike is setup as kick start only although the stock electric starter is still in the engine and was functioning previously. It starts first kick hot or cold without needing choke. I have a clean/clear FL title in hand and it can easily be registered anywhere without a problem. Here is your chance to own an awesome nimble cafe that is a ton of fun to blast around on! Everywhere this bike goes there's a crowd around it! I have no problem assisting with shipping in any way possible, both international and domestic.

Who To Watch In AMA Pro Superbike This Weekend

Tue, 11 Mar 2014

Photo: Brian J. Nelson Even though reigning AMA Pro Superbike champ Josh Herrin has left the series to try his hand in the Moto2 series, the Superbike field is still filled deep with talent heading into this weekend’s series opening round at Daytona. Here are just a few names to keep an eye on this weekend.

2012 Honda Fireblade and NC700X launch

Mon, 21 Nov 2011

I'm chucking a few essential items into my massive stuffa bag, ready to go to Portimao tomorrow for the International launch of not just the Honda NC700X but also the new Fireblade, too. You couldn't fathom two bikes at further ends of the scale. One all about performance and speed, the other about user-friendliness and thrift.

Awesome Anaheim Supercross

Fri, 11 Jan 2013

The highlight of this winter has to be my visit to last week’s Anaheim Californian Supercross.  I’ve followed this spectacular series on Motors TV but the atmosphere while watching the action live is something else. Forty five Yankee dollars gets you a good seat high in the stadium, with practice starting at 12.30pm and the main event kicking off at 7.30pm. If you are making a day of it however, I’d recommend buying a pit pass then you can get in full anorak mode to hassle the teams and riders for autographs and photos.  We conveniently made some new friends allowing us to do some pre event ‘tail gating’, a great concept which is basically barbecuing and downing beer around your vehicle in the surrounding car parks.  The evening race schedule is four hours of nonstop action starting with the capacity crowd standing for the American national anthem sung by a stunning blonde with a huge voice.
