Harley-Davidson Other description

It’s a 1970 Harley Davidson that was built frame up into a "Jammers" style chopper. The bike has less than 5000 miles on it since it was first started up several years ago. The Shovelhead engine was rebuilt and blueprinted by Roger Lockwood in Glendale AZ with a new style oil pump (S&S) conversation done so it has a full time oiling system for the motor vs the one shot. The motor has an Andrews AB cam in it and has the newer style nose cone for the points. The 4 speed transmission was updated by Highway Choppers here in Glendale AZ and has the new style oil seal repair for the mainshaft. The front end is a Showa type (wide glide, dual disc) which makes the bike sit up as its 2.5 inches taller than the original FL. The rear disk brake was updated to a 1984 HD disk brake system from the drum. This bike has both a kicker and a electric starter on it and has a new alternator in it. The primary is by Belt Drive Ltd. and has a Kevlar clutch set up inside. It still sports a chain rear with the skateboard wheel type auto tensioner. The frame was powder coated and a new wiring harness made. Both wheels are wire, spoked rims. The rear wheel is 16" and the front is a 21". New tires were installed about 150 miles ago. New forward controls were purchased and fitted with Kuryakyn pegs and heel stirrups. The speedo was new at time of rebuild and is the early shovelhead type. The chain case is a heavy duty unit and the chain oiler blocked off. It sports a horseshoe oil tank with a oil cooler and up front of the engine oil filter. I made the rear passenger peg mounts and put Kuryakyn pegs on them to match the ones on the forward controls. The carb on this engine is S&S Super E. I could go on as there was so much done that most people dont catch them all and everything was rebuilt or replaced. I did not spare any effort or money on building this bike as I built it for myself to ride. I have over $22,000 invested in it. This bikes VIN on the frame, engine and transmissions all match. This bike was ridden into the garage and parked a few years ago and will need some work to put it back on the road. ... its being sold "AS IS." Pallet crating for shipping is available for an extra cost. PayPal prefered payment.

Laguna Seca Added to 2014 AMA Superbike Schedule

Thu, 13 Mar 2014

AMA Superbike will be racing at Laguna Seca this year after all, with AMA Pro Racing announced the addition of the Monterey, Calif., circuit to its 2014 schedule, joining the World Superbike Championship on July 11-13. Laguna Seca was not included in AMA Pro Racing’s calendar, but its addition now increases the number of rounds in the series to six. That’s still down from the nine rounds held in 2013, but the absence of Laguna Seca and its famed Corkscrew would have been an especially tough loss.

Harley-Davidson is recalling the 2014 Tri Glide Ultra Classic trike  because of a problem with . At the moment, a recall has only been announced by Transport Canada; the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has yet to announce the recall due to the federal government shutdown, but recall notices are already being sent out to dealers in the U.S. According to the Canadian agency, the upper fork stem bracket was machined incorrectly, allowing for more steering angle than intended by the trike’s specifications.
