Harley-Davidson Other description

Hi Folks!

Here is your opportunity to buy an ALL ORIGINAL 1929 Harley Davidson JD Twin 1,200cc Vintage and Collectible Motorcycle, Frame No. 29JD / Engine 29JD8092. I am from the USA, but split my time between Paraguay, South America and the US. I represent a Paraguayan Business called Norte A Sur and you can check them out on Facebook at norteasurpy. I am a broker and Import/Export rare and unusual items to and from South America to all over the world. My client for this item is a professional collector and has over 50 collectible motorcycles and tons of vintage memorabilia that we will be selling soon. This motorcycle is part of that collection. We will be listing more motorcycles and motorcycle parts after this auction is complete, so keep an eye out and feel free to contact me, if your looking for anything in particular that my client might have.

A little background on this motorcycle:

It was owned by a famous doctor in Paraguay, who had it running and sold it just before he died to my client. My client has all the documentation to show that the motorcycle is legally registered as a motor vehicle in Paraguay, with matching Motor/VIN numbers, certificate of authenticity and also the paperwork that shows it's part of the Federation Internationale Vehicules Anciens (FIVA). My client has been collecting and storing the motorcycle for the last 10 years and never used it. He is now ready to retire and travel, so he's interested in liquidating his entire collection, which consists of vintage BMW's, Triumph's, NSU's, MZ IFA-BK's, Indian's, Machless, Jawa, etc. Along with many other gas station vintage memorabilia in the form of signs, old gas pumps, parts, etc.

During the 1920's Harley Davidson put in place several improvements such as new 74cubic inch V-Twin introduced in 1922, and the ''teardrop'' gas tank in 1925. The motorcycles also gained weight, the 1915 model weighed 305lb, the 1929 weighs 400lbs, and they often beat the newer bikes in races during the 30's. A front brake was added in 1928 although notably only on the J/JD models. In the late summer of 1929 they change the inlet-over-exhaust valve configuration to side valve v-Twins. These were produced orm 1929 to 1931.

Do not miss this opportunity to own a rare one of a kind piece of history that is ALL Original!

Description: Motorcycle has not run in 10 years, but is COMPLETE, with ALL original parts, other than the tires. It is missing the cylinder tool box that sits right above the front tire as you will see in the photos and a battery. We have listed all the detailed photos we have in this auction, if you need something specific please advise and we will try to accommodate.

NOTE: WE WILL SHIP WORLDWIDE! Also, we are offering the buyer the ability to safeguard themselves using Escrow.com, since the motorcycle is located internationally. Easy Rider 40th Anniversary

Tue, 27 Oct 2009

Peter Fonda, who played Wyatt in the 1969 cult classic, Easy Rider, was in Glendale, CA on Friday to help promote the Blu-Ray release of the film which marks the 40th anniversary.  The movie was scheduled to be shown at the Love Ride event that was canceled this year, instead the film screened at a local Harley-Davidson dealer. One of the film’s main objective was to expose violence and racism in the U.S. in a negative light but instead it seems that it was taken the wrong way with most, glorifying the lifestyle that was portrayed in the film.
