Continental Announces Tire Recall

Tue, 12 Aug 2014

Continental announced a recall on approximately 9000 tires in North America (and 170,000 worldwide) because of a risk of tread separation and air loss. The North American recall covers 120/70 ZR17 and 120/70 R17 tires sold in the U.S. and Canada bearing DOT serial numbers between 1907 and 2614. The affected tires were sold to both OEMs and individual customers between 2007 and 2014.

According to Continental, feedback from customers reported a condition where the tread and/or belt may separate, leading to air loss. Continental says it has not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to this issue.
