Cappuccinos in the Desert – Ducati Opens High-End Lounge in Dubai

Wed, 30 May 2012

Ducati has opened a new boutique restaurant lounge bar in Dubai, joining existing franchises in Rome, Shanghai and Bangkok.

Like other Ducati Caffè franchises, the Dubai location offers Italian-style food and, of course, coffee, as well as Ducati merchandise. The lounge inhabits a two-floor, 4,400 square-foot unit in the Dubai mall. The Caffè is decorated with Ducati artwork and LCD monitors. A couple of Ducati motorcycles also decorate the restaurant, including an 848 mounted nose-up on a wall.

Ducati MotoGP factory rider Nicky Hayden was on hand for the May 25 grand opening for the Ducati Caffè in the Dubai mall.

“This part of the world is important for the Ducati Team, considering that Qatar hosts the season-opening race and the championship’s only night race, and it’s a pleasure to get to visit in a more relaxed setting,” says Hayden. “I’m really impressed by the Ducati Caffè concept, and I think the one here in Dubai is a great example of the potential”

Ducati partnered with United Arab Emirates-based AD Group to open the Dubai location. Their collaboration won’t stop there however several other locations are in the works.

“We are very excited about establishing the Ducati Caffè in Dubai, I am a huge fan of the brand myself and feel confident that it will be positively received here,” says Abdul Aziz Al Dawihi, president of AD Group. “Dubai Mall is just the beginning; we are planning to open several Ducati Caffès in the region within the next two years, within the major shopping destinations of Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Beirut, Riyadh and Jeddah.”
