2012 Triumph Daytona 675 Revealed; Graphics Both Bolder and Newer

Thu, 01 Sep 2011

Triumph revealed the 2012 edition of its Daytona 675 supersport, featuring a few cosmetic changes from the 2011 model.

For 2012, the Triumph Daytona675 will be available in Phantom Black or Diablo Red. Cosmetic updates include new decals, updated Triumph script on the fuel tank, and a jet black bellypan similar to the Daytona 675R unveiled earlier this year.

The engine remains unchanged, with a claimed output of 124hp at 12,600 rpm and 53 ft-lb., and paired with a stacked close-ratio 6-speed transmission. The suspension system is comprised of a fully adjustable 41mm fork and monoshock from Kayaba while Nissin brakes provide stopping power.  Wet weight is said to be 407 pounds.

Those expecting more substantial updates will have to wait until 2013. Spy video of the next generation Daytona 675 emerged last month, revealing a short, side-mounted exhaust, redesigned swingarm, modified tail and six spoke wheels instead of the five-spoke wheels on the 2012 model.
