Yamaha YZF description

1998 Yamaha R1 This is a one owner original pampered bike that is rare to find, especially in the red and white color scheme and because only a few of these first generation Yamaha superbikes were brought into the US in 98. They were a game changer then and set the bar and tone for the other makers for years. This motorcycle benefits from a complete servicing as of last week. All fluids and filters have been changed, and new tires were added as well. This is a one owner bike has been stored inside its entire life. It has never been over, but does have 1 small scratch on the gas tank and 2 small scratches on the right side fairing. All shown in the accompanying photos. It starts and rides like a new bike and is ready, either for a collector or a knowledgable rider.

Ben Spies Video Interview on 2012 MotoGP Season [Video]

Thu, 22 Mar 2012

Yamaha Factory Racing today posted on its YouTube page a video interview with Ben “Elbowz” Spies, in which Spies discusses the soon to start 2012 season of MotoGP. In his usual calm, cool and under control manner Spies speaks frankly on how he prefers the 1000cc GP machine, saying it suits his style (elbows out!) better than the previous seasons’ 800cc bikes because the extra torque and horsepower of the liter-class bikes are, essentially, better matched to his physical stature. Spies also answers honestly the question of who he thinks he needs to keep an eye in 2012, including his teammate, Jorge Lorenzo.

2014 AMA Supercross – Phoenix Results

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

Kawasaki‘s Ryan Villopoto nabbed a hard-earned first victory of the 2014 AMA Supercross season, overcoming a poor start that saw him ninth after the first lap for the win. The three-time reigning champion found himself well back after the first corner as Yoshimura Suzuki‘s Jake Moss took the holeshot ahead of Yamaha‘s Justin Brayton and the KTM‘s Ryan Dungey. Brayton took over the lead by the second corner and would stay in front for the first 13 laps.

2009 Yamaha R1 Reviewed!

Tue, 20 Jan 2009

Get the Flash Player to see this player. After much speculation and anticipation regarding the 2009 YZF-R1, MO finally got some seat time in the recently updated numero uno. After hearing much about this new “Cross-plane crankshaft” technology, we were ready to write it off as media hype and PR propaganda, but it turns out that the Yamaha R1 has actually tightened the gap between MotoGP technology and street applications.
