2013 Yamaha YZ 85 Purchased Brand New on July 18th as a replacement bike for my 13yr old to ride in the local 85 classes. The bike sat the month of August due to injury (not related to motocross) and was ridden for the last time Sunday as he is done riding 85's. The bike is completely stock and never opened except a ARC folding clutch lever, Renthal Bars, Twin Air filter, Graphics and a new MX51 rear tire as the factory one was junk.
My son rode KX 85's, RM 85's and this was our first YZ 85. He has liked this bike way more than the others and has been saying the last few months that this is the best 85 he's ever ridden! Wed, 03 Aug 2011A drop in net sales, an appreciating yen and the fallout from the March 11 earthquake and tsunamis in Japan contributed to a 4.6% drop in profit for Yamaha Motor Co. over the second quarter of 2011. Over the quarter ended June 30, 2011, Yamaha saw a 5.9% drop in net sales compared to the same period in 2010.Yamaha reports sales of 344.5 billion yen (US$4.48 billion) over the second quarter, compared to the 366.3 billion yen (US$4.77 billion) reported in the same quarter in 2010.
Isle of Man TT 2014: Monster Supersport TT 2 Results
Wed, 04 Jun 2014Michael Dunlop led from start to finish to win the second Supersport TT race, giving him 10 TT victories in his career, tying him with the likes of Giacomo Agostini. Dunlop also joins sidecar racer Robert Fisher, Ian Lougher and Stanley Woods with 10 wins apiece, all tied for seventh overall on the all-time wins list. Riding his MD Racing Honda CBR600RR, Dunlop got off to a strong start, recording a time of 17:55.817 on the opening lap, giving him a 4.6-second advantage over fellow Honda rider Bruce Anstey.
Yamaha Opens New Motorcycle Testing Center
Wed, 13 Nov 2013Yamaha has completed construction of a new test course for developing motorcycles for emerging markets in Kikugawa, Japan. The 121-acre Yamaha Motor Kikukawa Test Course features a 1.18-mile circuit and a mix of multi-purpose roads and mountain terrain. It will be used to develop new motorcycles for Latin America and Asia.
